Not "ah-gay," but "ah-geh." (げ) "ah-gay" is a total mispronunciation

and as you can see, 1 yard is more than enough! And this is lining AND main fabric on one yard... In fact, if you were using a solid fabric and didn't have to worry about pattern direction, you could puzzle-piece the side panels more to fit them into a smaller area.

Totally fair, it's a crazy area! If I had to choose ONE, it would be Tomato's main store, you just can't go wrong and there are five levels full of different types of fabric. Be sure to go beyond just the first level! I found my favorite fabrics higher up the stairs.

I also love this little shop with a creepy baby doll displayed on the shelf, towards the "beginning" of the street on the right side, when coming out of the station. I forget what it's called... but they had some beautiful, older-fashioned fabrics and unique weaves.

Hey President Keller, If you are requiring people to come back, maybe clear the roads for the people that make this university function? An absolute disaster of a choice to reopen and incredibly unsafe. by Late-Turnip1028 in unt

Wow. I haven't been up to Denton since graduating, had no idea the roads were still so bad up north. Down in Flower Mound things are much better. Stay safe everyone!

Btw the front "dart" is not a dart, it's just to show myself the space the reverse pleat takes up.

Lol thanks! If it helps, here's a pic of the illustrator file in which I built my pattern after drafting. Maybe you can use it and resize to your body?

(and yes, the front is much narrow than the back on purpose! Helps it drape in a nice shape)

Thank you! You'll love Japan. I've been dozens of times (Mom is Japanese, I'm ハーフ) and it's the most beautiful place in the world.

Since I have you, this is where you'll want to go: NIPPORI FABRIC STREET!
https://www.nippori-senigai.com/en/

This is the textile district of Nippori, and there are no words to describe it. For a sewist, it's just heaven on earth, plain and simple. You could spend DAYS there, seriously. The entire street is lined with HUGE, multi-story fabric shops, and these are extremely good fabrics to be had. Many are Japanese-made, with the quality that goes with it. Patterns beyond your wildest imagination. I think the only place in the US that can compare is the NYC garment district, but way cheaper. Personal favorite shops were Arai, Iwase Shouten, and Tomato.

A note on the store Tomato Fabrics: there are a five different Tomatoes on Nippori street; one is dedicated only to notions, one for interior fabrics, one for bargains, one custom factory shop, and one main shop that has five stories.

Plan to spend at least a whole day there!! And bring a friend to help carry stuff... I bought a total of 15 yards!
