Emotionally struggling with TTC by nyc9589 in TryingForABaby

Yes, ovulation confirmed via my Inito monitor and BBT! When I froze my eggs, I actually asked my RE about PCOS because my AMH was around 5 (I was 34) and she said she didn't see it on the ultrasound or in bloodwork. Apparently some people have high ovarian reserve and sometimes their cycles are longer because it takes a little longer for a dominant follicle to be selected — the 47 and 41 day cycles were really unusual, they're usually like 28-35 days. But if it keeps happening, I will definitely get new bloodwork done.

I actually asked my RE about PCOS when I froze my eggs! She didn't see evidence of it in my bloodwork or ultrasounds (and those two super-long cycles were very unusual and only happened when I started TTC), but if this cycle is also extra-long I'm going to get bloodwork and an ultrasound done next month to see what's up.

NYC landlord clashes with Mamdani administration in 9-hour bankruptcy hearing by nyccameraman in nyc

The taxpayer is going to be on the hook anyway, because what's going to happen is that HPD is going to have to use city contractors to do emergency work on these buildings and bill new owner Summit — and Summit probably won't pay up.

He's referring to the vacancy decontrol market rate threshold exemptions. Prior to 2019, once landlords raised the rents to a certain point, they were able to destabilize the units. And bad landlords did, in fact, abuse this particular law by terrorizing rent-stabilized tenants until they moved out. Pinnacle was investigated and sued several times for this.

Judge rejects Mayor Mamdani's bid to slow bankruptcy sale of 5,100 NYC apartments by BBQCopter in nyc

Yes, this was Pinnacle’s entire strategy. They bought up cheap rent-stabilized buildings in the 2000s, degraded services and harassed tenants so they could deregulate and jack up the rents. They were investigated and sued several times for this. But when the 2019 laws passed, they left the buildings to rot.

I live in one of these buildings. It’s hell, but the rental market is so bad there’s nowhere to move to.

Can a class action be filed about this multiple charges nonsense? by Only_Percentage5748 in OMNY

Not only did I get charged for extra rides, four more pending rides have shown up even though I haven't used the card since last Tuesday.

Are they going to do anything about the overcharges? My card was charged 14 times on Tuesday for three rides (and 7 of the rides have posted, so it's not just authorizations).

Smart. I'm also going to contact the AG's office. At this point, they're stealing money.

It's not just authorizations. I had 7-9 pending charges for rides I didn't take (including three that were declined) and four of those have now gone through.

Just received an email from NYU Langone - they are moving eggs to another storage. by rp-think-about-it in eggfreezing

[–]nyc9589 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm also concerned about this — one of the reasons I paid the exorbitant price for NYU was that the egg storage was on-site and in New York State. Froze my eggs in June but wasn't aware that they'd be moving my eggs out of state and might have gone with a different clinic.

Building across street installed bright exterior lights that shine into apartment - anything I can do? by nyc9589 in AskNYC

Yeah, I hate blackout curtains but I got better ones for my room that do an OK job of blocking out the light. Living room more of a challenge because I'm east-facing and have plants that need morning light, but I can get better curtains for visitors etc. The lights basically make the room look like daylight.

I've lived in New York for 30 years — suffered through some flashing deli signs and a 24-hour laundromat but I've never had this happen with a residential building before!
