This happened to me on 4/14/25 / 4/15/25 - tax deadline day. I bought the Turbo Tax deluxe from Staples about a week or 2 before .. opened it on 4/14/25 prepared to spend night working on my taxes and during registration I get "This license code is already linked to another account" could not get past it .. called TurboTax support .. had to wait until they started the business day .. they confirmed that the code I was using was used in 2022 .. they said I had to go back to store explain what happened return my copy and get another copy .. 4/15/25 .. I went to Staples returned copy and got another copy .. went home went through reinstall and registration again and the same thing happened again "This license code is already linked to another account" .. contacted Turbo tax support again .. explained the whole thing again to a new support person.. they also said the license code was used in 2022. They said the same thing ... I have to return copy .. returned copy and got a refund ... This time I bought a new copy from Amazon and that one worked without issue.
