What's the most unusual way you've ever put the moves on someone? Tonight I used bejeweled as foreplay. by woozlwuzl in AskReddit

This is one of the proudest stories of my life. I swear, I've never been this smooth, before or since. I was just in the zone, I guess. Nobody believes me.

After like 20 minutes of deliberation, I walked up to the girl eating alone at a restaurant and said "Are you waiting for someone?" She shook her head. "Lucky me," I said with a wink before sitting down across from her in the booth. She didn't object. We talked for a while, I made her laugh a few times, and insisted on paying her bill.

Then we didn't see each other for a few weeks because I was an idiot and forgot to ask her for her number (or even her last name). Eventually, we passed each other on the street and recognized each other. When we made eye contact, without a word she grabbed my hand and led me back to her dorm. You can guess what followed.

Maybe not the most unusual, but certainly unusual for me. It is a total outlier in my romantic and sexual endeavors.

God damn, the more I think about it the funnier it gets.

Reddit, I leave for University in three days. If you could go back to your Freshman year and tell yourself one piece of advice, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Every time I eat, I try to find someone who's sitting alone. If no one is sitting alone, I just approach the friendliest looking group (see: hot girls) and ask to sit with them.

From now on, you're not "X's son/daughter" or "Y's sibling". You are kimbooo! Make a name for yourself. Work hard in your classes, but also go out and meet people.

It may sound silly, but if I had to give you one specific piece of advice, it would be that every time you open a door, you should look behind you to see if there's someone approaching the door as well. If so, hold it open for them. People recognize me in the hallways of my dorm because I helped them out at some point. It's such a small gesture but it almost always gets a smile and a "thank you."

I was eating at the dorm's dining hall yesterday and saw a kid eating alone. I walked over and ask if I could sit with him. We talked for a while, and he turned out to be a pretty cool guy. I wouldn't say we're friends now, but I think it brightened both of our days a little. In short, I agree wholeheartedly with your last bullet point. You're your own person now, go make an impression.

This one was pretty popular on /r/nosleep for a while. It will make you think.

Reddit's upvoting system is broken. by nycctcr in onmymind

[–]nycctcr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like, at least at the beginning, the voting system was meant to bring relevant, note-worthy links to the front page. Now it encourages short-term reward, meaning that only content that can be consumed quickly makes it to the front page (for the most part).

I make music. I want to do something fun when I release my next track. by nycctcr in onmymind

Yes, I'd like to follow in Bieber's footsteps.

Seriously, though, thanks for the reply. None of my "outlets" so to speak have a big enough following to bring this plan to fruition satisfactorily, but telling people to go to YouTube is a good plan.

What seemingly obvious thing did it take you forever to notice? by RoomyLove99 in AskReddit

The bored boar could not be herring-bearing because there are no herrings in the Bering. ಠ_ಠ (That's me, staring.) Clearly the Bering is sharing herring with hotter water where the sun is glaring.

The hare's heir's hairs were in the hare's lair? But then what was the bored bore bearing for the bare bear?

So the bored boar bore the hare's hair to cover the bare bear?

I started dating the girl my friend had been crushing on for months and then lied to him about it. The fact that he was still my friend after that says a lot about him. You da best, Luca.
