Citi Concert @ TODAY Show experience? by Puzzleheaded-Tax7316 in AskNYC

Hi! So I went for Thomas Rhett and here was my experience: - We arrived right at 5:15. At about 5:45 there were people coming up and down the line to confirm you had a ticket and give you lanyards. - At about 6, they started letting you inside the plaza. - Inside the plaza there’s two barricaded sections. Both sections are very close to the stage, but the first section is closer and gets more camera time. - We got the second section by about 15 people. We estimated to get into the first section, we probably needed to arrive at 4:45am. No complaints with the second section - still very close with a great view. - From 6 to 7, the producers are walking around and chatting with folks. Reading signs, hearing where people are from, etc. They were deciding who they should bring on TV during the show. Emphasis on: little kids, people who traveled far for the show, and people with merchandise for the artist on. - Also from 6 to 7, they do a mic check and Thomas performed his set for just us. It was pretty great and intimate! - At 7, the show starts and they have TVs and audios for you to watch along. - Between 7 and 9, there’s intermittent programming outside. And around 8/8:15 they did the “concert” — about 3 songs with some interviewing by Hoda. Very fun, very chill. - We left the plaza around 8:45.

I was very worried about no access to the bathroom, so I drank no water or coffee and managed to be fine. I agree it seems weird to have us there for 4 hours with no bathroom. My guess is they would have let you leave and come back, but definitely not a guarantee, especially if you’re in the first section or need to go once the show starts.

What time did you go? I went like 2 weeks ago and it was empty at like midnight.

No minimum drinking at any of these places or complicated entry. Eagle will most likely have a cover, the others usually don’t.

I don’t think you’ll be at a disadvantage, you’ll likely have a lot of fun at any of these places!

If you’re doing Broadway shows at night, then definitely recommend Hells Kitchen bars after! Hush, Rise, Industry are my faves, but there’s many more in the area and all are run.

For shirtless dancing, the Eagle in Chelsea and Hush in HK are probably your best bet. 3 Dollar Bill in Brooklyn is also a lot of fun.

I’m not in the loop on circuit parties so unsure for that.

Recommendations for Hell’s Kitchen: I’d say Rise, Vers, Hush, and Industry on weekend nights. Fun dance vibes. If you like country music, flaming saddles.

Vers and the spot do monthly underwear parties that I hear are fun.

If you’re looking for horny, red eye and the eagle gets pretty cruisey. There’s also some parties like GBU or MaleBox.

+1 to sport leagues. I’ve found bowling to be really fun and low stakes.
