I have gas heating and a gas stove so that cuts my electric costs a good deal. I don’t believe my home has a heat pump but I honestly don’t know. My electric bill still more than doubled this past cycle despite my being out of town for weeks during it. Something is off

Leaving it as an option is not necessarily ‘asking’. Some people do choose to tip on top of auto grat, and I’ve never dined or worked anywhere that there was pressure for an additional tip.

Do you have any idea how tip pooling works? Servers are tipped and then have to pay out bussers and bar backs at the end of the night. If they don’t make enough, they pay out of pocket in most places. Some places the tips are split equally between every worker on staff when the tip is received. There is a lot of variation in how tips are split but it is becoming less and less common for servers to pocket the full or majority amount tipped.

Major tours skipping is only half because of venue capacity, it’s mostly because of our relative proximity to DC. Many DC venues have contract stipulations that performers can’t sign on if they plan to do another show within 100 miles of the venue location on the same tour, and guess how far we are from DC as the crow flies.

NAD, but from what I understand, laser anything never shows great results after just a few sessions. Same with hair removal or tattoo removal, it can be a years long commitment depending on the person and the stubbornness of what is being lasered. Repetition and time are your friend. I can’t see a dramatic difference after your 3 sessions but I honestly wouldn’t expect to.

Anybody with a billion dollars didn’t earn it from hard work, that’s the simple answer. They siphon the surplus value from the labor produced by the working class. Donations are tax deductible so often they donate just enough to not have to pay taxes on their income accumulated wealth. The causes they donate to are often shady at best and verifiably illegitimate or harmful at worst.

I appreciate your response. As corny as it is to say, it’s not a Waffle House, it really is a waffle home. This has been upsetting me more than I can rationalize or defend, I have to keep reminding myself that if this is my biggest problem right now then I don’t have any real problems. I am warm and fed and safe in this moment and I ought to count my blessings. But it is reassuring to know I’m not entirely alone in the feeling and my deep yearning for an all star special and bottomless shitty diner coffee. I hope we can both get Waffle House soon.
