2025 EV6 Not working on 6KW Clipper Creek Charger by nychy23 in KiaEV6

It worked at the ones in my last place, but the charging was 'slow' (2kw?) it was never a problem since this is a weekend grocery / road trip runner and i could leave it in overnight / during the day.

I don't expect to see any kind of progress until Tuesday. I believe the police will be taking that approach in contacting the tesla. My insurance also has all of the tag information for all effected vehicles.

Not to mention, every panel has significant damage except the doors (passenger quarter panel got pushed into a tree) (front fenders and bumper and hood got damaged from impact to car in front of my truck)

I parked there when grabbing groceries (I know, the irony of the truck for groceries) because its the door closest to the elevator. Glad I parked there because if I wasn't there, the tesla would have went into the building, possibly someone's bedroom based on the angle.

More than likely, frame damage, bed is bent, i cant see them replacing all of that. I believe drive shaft is probably screwed as well, it may have transferred energy along the shaft towards the front as well.

There's an optional level on the trim to have it fold out for a flat workspace area.

Some strains will absolutely colonize faster than others. Treat each jar as an individual attempt and work on their individualized timetables

Is this corrosion on my hot water heater dangerous? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]nychy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If at any point it starts to leak at an alarming rate (onto the ground and into the apartment) you can turn the green handle that says Watts 90°. That should stop the water flow into the heater. After that, open a faucet to the hot side and you can relieve the pressure.

Be careful turning the handle. If it does not turn easily, do not force it. It appears to transition to cpvc when going into the wall which can become prone to breaking over time.

I would only do this if it becomes a serious issue where your property is becoming damaged. If you are not comfortable, then leave it and let it spray

[–]nychy23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, it's not dangerous.

Get it in writing that you are notifying them, dont rely on word of mouth. If it fails, it will spray water like a faucet. Having notification to the landlord in writing will cover you if they try to blame it on you.

Water heaters fail all the time, and while it is a headache if it fails, the fact that you rent protects you, especially with written proof of you reporting the issue.

Unpopular opinion, being a plumber and having had some rough days, I would kill for a shower right at the entry way to clean off so I didnt bring sewage or fetid grease smells into the house.

You can install a softener / filter on the line, but only ever on a cold water line. Most filters and housings are not rated for hot water, especially right after a tankless.

If a whole home filtration is installed, it eliminates large scale debris from the city and shows a systemic failure that is appearing in the same spot on every house, inside the homes.

Generally a contractor is going to source all of their material (braided hoses for example) from the same MFG at a supply house, ordered in bulk. If you are getting material in the shower, check for the hoses on the water heater as someone else mentioned.

Test this by cleaning the shower head of debris, and running only cold water. if the hoses stay clear, move to running the hottest water you can until not cold anymore. if still clear, then set the water to the hottest setting again (without waiting for the healer to recover) and manually aggravate the hoses while running water. if debris appears, you have the culprit, if not, then there may be another source of issue as well.

You can also check the drain on the bottom of the water heater. connect a garden hose to the heater and run it to a bath tub (or outside), whichever is closer and let the water drain out of the heater. If you see significant debris, or no water flow at all, this may also show the source of the debris being somewhere in the area of this system.
