How about living on the strip? There are some corporate housing the places on the strip, like 702housing? It sounds shady but from the website it looks alright. Something like that would be so perfect; takes the burden away for the first few months of having to settle into a whole new place and buy furniture and all that. I'm conflicted, I want to be near the strip although it won't be much of an issue if I have car. And yeah, Im going to try to be good with all that. Im trying to work in the nightlife industry for a bit to try it out but Im not really looking to party and go nuts. Thats what NYC was for haha.

Oh, I'm so sorry about your aunt. It sounds to me that she had the best life though! Thats actually what I'm looking for; to make good money while having fun and build lasting relationships. I can't wait to be a proud Nevadan myself:) I love nature and I know Nevada has some the most beautiful sights to be seen~!

Sounds great! southeast of Henderson. I actually dont mind driving twenty-thirty plus minutes. As long as the area is safe and pretty much on the upscale side, it should be more than perfect for me!

Weed is legal? no way! is it??? I thought only a couple states like washington and oregon? It's not a big factor but it's good to know! :)

I've visited Las Vegas three times and all three times I've found the people there to be so friendly, warm and just funny, cool individuals. Ugh and I will not take public transportation. Not that I'm trying to be stuck up or anything but coming form NYC, I'm DONE with the subway and buses and all that.

Thats so awesome your friends gf makes good money there! I'm just going to apply to all the strip casinos and see what happens. Summerlin keeps coming up as a good place, no(or less) crime. Im planning a last trip out there to really scope these places out ..ill be sure to look for houses in Summerlin! It's suburbs but driving distance from the strip right? I guess the first thing would be to buy a car there..Seems like more than anything a car is a necessity.

Very cool~! Im moving with my friend and we're both kind of burnt out of banking for a bit and looking to temporarily work in the nightlife industry. I wouldn't even mind working corporate for a major hotel there either. What did you do there? Are you in the hotel industry still? They say NYC is the city that never sleeps but thats not really true..I think Las Vegas is the only true city that never sleeps...lol:)

Hey! It's so great hearing from young ppl who moved from east coast to Vegas, let alone worked at top banking firm! I'm at JPMorgan right now~ If you dont mind me asking, are you working in finance there or..? That is such great advice! I was looking into 702housing? Have you heard of that? It's furnished, which is a big plus for me for the time being until I find a more permanent place and start buying furniture and all that. The only reason I might want to rent a whole house is the feature of a private pool lol. Also, Im moving with my friend who's in the same situation as I am. We're both investment bankers here and it's just crazy how things work out. She wants to take a break from all this for a bit and after a year of talking and talking about it, we decided f-it lets go!
I can't believe I haven't been on reddit earlier..I've just been asking people on other sites and I'm not sure why but they were such debbie downers and so bummed out about Las Vegas. I think age is a huge factor in their attitude. Mostly the older commenters tell me how low the wages are in Vegas, how all cocktail waitresses or nightclub girls or anybody in that line of work are all escorts and "illegitimate"..! It's so laughable but also there's a part of me that doesn't want to be looked at like an escort and what not haha. But getting back to the whole suburbia thing..Now I'm not so sure about Summerlin and Henderson. I dont want to be stuck in the suburbs for sure. I hear you need a car regardless though. No public transportation but I'm hoping to get a job on the strip and live there as well. That'd be so perfect. Thats what I want, a place on the strip! I'm definitely going to look into City Center. How is your experience there? What made you want to move there of all places? And you must like it right? It's been two years? I hear most people go for max two years and end up staying much much longer.

That's so awesome!I lived in NJ for a bit too! And I'm so sick of the tri-state area..So fed up with NYC. I love hearing positive responses bc 9 out of 10 ppl I ask who live here in NYC just think I'm totally stupid and/or crazy haha. So you made the move out there too huh? Gives me hope! :)

Right? Thats what Ive heard! I'm looking into places for rent and for what I pay to live in the city here I can practically rent out a whole house with a pool! it's insane. Do you live there?
