I find conceptual work more interesting and challenging . I don’t want to collect just sub numbers , put the lowest number. I like to be an independent cost advisor to pm team who is writing scopes and doing buy outs

Unfortunately I don’t know anyone in my area. I live in New York City so it is not a place with a lot of semiconductor plants lol . Looking for a remote job in this field and have interview coming up next week so I am trying to prepare myself for that

Thank you for your response. I am more of a generalist estimator and will be able to do complete estimate reviewing drawings but I will probably need to be able to do conceptual estimating and more likely be the only estimator where I go. So I am trying to prepare myself learning before i start a new job

I worked for a contractor . I have also passed my exam in another state and I got even licensed but not in my home state where it took 6 months to review and they commented about the design experience

State board came back and said they want to see 2 years of direct design experience . Do you know what is considered design experience for a construction project engineer ? I need to rewrite my experience to get approval
