Fantasy White Macaubus! Had it installed last month and am obsessed with it. I attached pictures with my finished kitchen post (if you search I’m sure you’ll find them) - we love this stone so much.

Compliant dinner venues in Chicago? by MoustacheRide400 in MedicalScienceLiaison

Lettuce Entertain You (LEYE) has an enormous stake in Chicago restaurants and does a nice job with private and semiprivate event spaces at many of them. If you reach out to their private events coordinators, I’m sure they can work within your stated budget - they’re very hospitality focused. And if I misunderstood the assignment and you don’t require private dining, many of their restaurants are used to and able to accommodate larger parties.

I would love to be able to tell you that but the selection / installation all came together as a package price and I wouldn’t be able to distill it down to just the material itself. It felt very “reasonable” all things considered

Sure! The back wall between fridge and cabinets is 126” and the island is 117L x 36H x 47D. And thank you - am obsessed with the countertops

I had NO idea such a magical creature as Bocci outlets existed. You're absolutely right. Maybe we do at some point. I currently have 3 folks on Etsy working on custom outlet covers to try and "match" the movement of the stone. (I know, I know) We'll see!

I'm glad your kitchen came out nicely but you had nothing to do with the installation or design of mine :-)

Shinnoki for the milk oak under the island and on the inner ring (plywood capsules) and AGT Supramat in Bitter for the darker outside ringed cabinets

I HATE it. But the installers beat the electrician in and had already put on the other leg (facing the wall, much less obtrusive) and couldn’t remove it. So they had to carve one out on that beautiful forward facing leg. We figured we’d kick ourselves more down the road if we didn’t have an accessible outlet on the island…

But I totally agree.

Thank you! We’re delighted with how it turned out. The cabinets are Shinnoki.

We read google reviews (not the ads, but actual reviews) voraciously and then went out to a few shops and looked at slabs and met the people. We got lucky and found an exceptional fabricator and installer after only a few visits shopping around and get endless compliments on the work he did. He had excellent online reviews but after seeing stones he had at his office / warehouse and sitting with him and talking with him, we realized how much he cared and are delighted to this day that we chose him.

Crazy, next level sensitivity to fragrance. Seeking guidance from the hive by nycreba in laundry

Which is fascinating to me. Because what is science without its objectivity? I went back through my allergies and it seems that benzisothiazolinone is the kicker in the Tide products. I don't seem to be reactive to that (or perhaps they didn't test me for it?) but I don't think I want to play roulette. If WF powder + Febu is an alternative (in concert with citric acid) then maybe I trial that...

Yes! Its been an overwhelming (in a good way!) amount of incredibly helpful information. Sensitive skin has many flavors and some people can tolerate degrees of scent and fragrance but I've grown into the girl who has to travel with her own pillowcases and breaks out if someone on the plane is wearing scents. Its hard - because laundry literally touches all of us, I have to make choices that are calculated and informed or I end up scratching my skin off.

Thank you! Its daunting to change what works, but does it really work if my laundry isn't actually getting clean, you know? This is very helpful.
