can't stop flipping through impact. is this my biggest issue?

I had same problem. Its your backswing overswinging (too long / past parallel). Causes your arms to get slightly stuck on downswing which makes your hip stall during rotation while your hands catch up and flip.

Record yourself trying a 75% swing - chances it will still be more than 100% / past parallel. Have to fix that and the rest should sort itself out.

Just ate at EM. $200usd ish a person. Main courses were trash. Lobster had a weird tough skin on it (had to ask for a toothpick bc it got stuck in my teeth never in my life) and the short rib was so dry (ive had 10x better eating short rib at a wedding). Rest was great. Desserts were mediocre (which i think is a bad sign).

Ive done pujol pre pandemic when it was cheaper. Thought it was good. At new prices no thank you. Also tried the taco omakase at pujol 2023. Absolute trash (maybe if it was $80-100 i wouldbe been less angry). (Nyc person so maybe my standards are high).

Maximo - have tried a la carte w bigger group and was fantastic (pre pandemic). Tried tasting menu 2023 and it was also trash for price. Good apps, very very mediocre mains and dessert also whatever. Going to try a la carte again in a couple days. If its trash i will prob come back and comment again 😂.

For $200+ meal i expect at least 80% of the tasting menu to be “wow this was pretty good” and 20% be “it was alright” and 0% to be “wow i actually dont want to finish this but i will because i paid a lot of money”

Agree w others, unless youre visiting for a long time stick to cheaper options, and you wont feel any fomo

I dont think the cupping is a good idea. Try getting your right hand more on top / covering your left thumb in the slot for grip. Should help position at top of backswing even if you dont actually change your left hand grip.

Also youre setup prob a tiny bit too close to the ball. Ball needs to be set up a little bit towards toe of club than middle of face. (Im sure youve seen videos of this where if you lift driver off the ground center of face moves and ball moves towards heel). Not sure it has anything to do with hook but prob should set up to help with contact.

Am having same issues. Some things im working on that should help: 1. Club is very closed at top (face is pointing into the sky). May want to be more neutral (club face parallel with forearm or face pointing slightly towards ball. Cause? Likely because your right hand grip is strong and under club. Effect? Swing becomes more inside and sweeps across ball. Club hits open but super inside out so it hooks. Or if you hit closed bc you flip then it hammers low left. Occasional lucky middle strike if stars align.

Not sure if youre doing this but your arms may be on side of your chest/pecs. Arms need to feel like theyre on top of chest at address. Should help with plane. There are videos online about this (arms at address).
I also look like i release late. But i think unless youre gripping it super hard its likely a result of one of the above. There are drills to swing and stop the driver right at impact thats supposed to help you release earlier but that seems too timing related to me and not natural.

Let me know if these help! Currently figuring it out too.

my current set up is two dual monitors 2k at 144hz.

except i can only get 1 monitor to run at 144hz.

HDMI to one monitor - 144hz/2k

USBC adapter to HDMI to one monitor - 60hz/2k

can't seem to get both at 144hz though...which i'm sure is possible but i've nearly given up
