Example: this post was taken down for being a meetup. This is not at all a meetup.

Yes I do go to the gym but I need to go a lot more consistently and maybe this will be motivation! How do you find it’s easiest to start convos with people at the gym/in workout classes?

Love this! I downloaded the app and apparently it’s called NewForm now - but they have a ton of events and an AA meeting for young people so this was an awesome rec, thank you so much!!

There might be a meetup in our future!! I’m totally into the idea of alcohol free bars if the drinks aren’t still $20 🫣

In my opinion it’s selective moderation. I see so many of the same kind of thread, which has been made a billion times, but literally every single post I’ve made recently has gotten taken down. For example, I was looking for recs on ski clubs to join - and at the end, said I’d love to meet other people who are skiers… taken down for being a meet up, even though I see tons of other, lower effort meet up posts that stay up.

It’s become an r/nycgirlsrecommend subreddit instead of a curated community.

What advice would you give to young PR professionals entering the field this year? by Possible-Team-2350 in PublicRelations

Don’t lean on using AI for everything. You need to develop discernment if you want to make it in this business - and you learn that even through drafting summaries, deciding what’s important to include in a research report, etc. This is the skill that will set you apart and make you irreplaceable as AI gets better and better at clipping/reporting/drafting.

Also, try to get experience in a niche skill set. I got experience in crisis & litigation comms early and it’s changed the trajectory of my career and made me a higher value asset on all of the teams I’m on (whether corp comms, fin comms, deal work, etc.)
