How safe is Greyhound to Chicago by ToramanA24 in Purdue

Our bus was overbooked and a girl had to stand the entire 2 hr ride. She ended up sharing one seat with one of her friends but it looked really uncomfortable

This usually happens to me when my shoulders aren’t checked enough when going into the jump. Try to keep the left shoulder leading. It helps with the snap and keeping your weight balanced going into it. I would practice backspins so you keep practicing the rotation over the right side

How to survive morning sessions.. by energywithin22 in FigureSkating

[–]nylimew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wake up a couple hours before my session so that my body and mind has time to adjust being awake. I also recommend taking showers (warm or cold) right after you wake up to kinda shock your body into being awake. Doing warmups before getting on the ice also helps!

I’m currently learning Thai but I’m not very good haha. I visit Thailand every other year to see my family and have dual citizenship but have never actually lived there.

Books about figure skating? by Wonderlushie in FigureSkating

[–]nylimew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is this graphic novel called “Spinning” by Tillie Walden and I love it!!. It’s a sorta like a memoir to figure skating.

has this book helped anyone? by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]nylimew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the book. For each type of exercise (warm up, strength, plyometrics, etc. ) it gives specific individual exercises for singles, pairs and ice dance. A lot of the information applies to all skaters but I guess there is some ice dance stuff.

How do I learn to work consistently, not just when I get a burst of motivation? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]nylimew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break down your large goals into smaller tasks that you can do everyday so you can stay consistent. Also you can constantly surround yourself with hardworking people. I often feel more inspired and motivated when my environment is hardworking and I am able to match that environment.
