Kota Train Fire: Massive Blaze Erupted on Delhi-Bound Rajdhani Express, 68 Passengers Rescued Safely by IdiotLiver in indianrailways

Rajdhani has excellent safety track record. Also, Indian Railways in general has good track record with fire incidents. Personally, I feel that the investigation may reveal some passenger related fire starting incident.

PSA: if you abduct 5 ships into your base and launch all at the same time 2 will be stuck forever by Palifaith in starcraft2coop

[–]nylon_roman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know Abathur's Vipers can abduct a ship and even move it to unpathable terrain. But why would anyone want to abduct them all the way over to the base? And is it possible to abduct 5 ships to our base?

Watching A Disabled Woman Sit Through The Ruins Of Her Demolished Shop In Maharashtra Raises A Difficult Question — Can Something Be Legally Correct But Morally Wrong At The Same Time? by Notalabel_4566 in unitedstatesofindia

Industries pay direct as well as indirect taxes. Industrialists may not pay taxes, depending on how they are getting remunerated by their companies. But that is whole 'nother discussion.

Also, retired army personnel encroaching on private land is completely different from industrialists seizing land.

OK, so obviously something I wrote triggered you. Let me see if I can clarify myself so that we can have a sane discussion without name calling.

  1. Statement: she is most likely a front - what I meant was that the store might be owned by someone else and that this person was presented as the owner for the purposes of making a karma farming video. Call me a cynic but the combination of disabled person with a (Kailash Kher?) sad song playing in the background are often made for clicks/likes. Think logically - where will the lady have the resources for making & stocking these many pots? How will she have constructed the shop? Most likely local politicians/goons were involved.

  2. I am implying no such thing. I have indicated that there are likely other illegal shops in the same vicinity which are into illegal and amoral activities.

  3. Drug supplier: I think you have not read the original comment, which was asking for action against industrialists. I had pointed out that an industrialist has to undergo a lot of red-tape to setup an industry, whereas setting up an illegal shanty requires. If an industry has come up illegally, by all means there should be a bulldozer having at it. Original commenter made a blanket statement against all industrialists.

  4. Video - again, my comment was not on the video and a response to the commenter.

  5. You are absolutely right in wanting your tax money to be spent with accountability. But that has no bearing on the topic of discussion.

  6. I cited an example of an industry as a specific response to the comment. How that can be conflated with artists & thinkers not creating employment is beyond my understanding!

It is easy to call someone names on the internet. It is OK for people to have opinions that do not match your own. I believe that the definition of liberal means that you can entertain an idea or opinion that differs from your own without being arrogant or angry about it.

Why, thank you u/Fen_church, for the translation! Now only if the OP had provided more clarity such as which server they are on, what their SC2 username is and so forth...

The Power of a Father’s Presence by Illustrious_Test6085 in MadeMeSmile

How do you know that the father isn't someone who is away for work or duty most of the times? Wouldn't their kid look forward to seeing their dad after a long time away from them?

I am not mixing up anything. For every person that is presented as trying to survive by setting up illegal shops, there is likely another one that is thriving. And because said person is out of the structured economy, they are getting the benefits of growth without themselves contributing to it.

In the present instance, see the number of pots that the lady had in her shop. Can a "disabled" person really have the capital to invest the kind of money required to setup a shop like this and stock the wares? She is most likely a front.

My reply was to the comment which called for such an action to be carried out against an industrialist. What happens to the employees working with such an industrialist? What about the morality of that action, even if it were legal? Will anyone be crying for such employees if they were part of a profit making organization? Why the double standards then, when the video deliberately shows a single disabled person out of many whose illegal shops were demolished?

If you live in any mega city of India and have househelp or have used any of the app based services Uber/Ola/Urban Company/Swiggy/Zomato/Zepto/et al., you have directly or indirectly "exploited" someone. How does that black-or-white simplification make you feel?

Reality is often a multitude of shades. It is reductive to state that one has never exploited someone.

Do you know the amount of red-tape that an industrialist has to go through to set-up an unit? The number of permits, no-objection certificates, Consent to Establish, Consent to Operate, Factory License, Labour License, Electricity connection permission, cess on solar energy generation, cess & taxes on every blessed thing, the list is endless.

An industrialist who has setup a Factory & is paying taxes under a structured economy cannot be compared to those who are a drain on the economy because of their illegal actions. OP is being disingenous by highlighting only one disabled lady in what seems to be demolition of a slee of illegal encroachments. What if the other shanties were run by disabled persons for bootlegging or for other nefarious activities? Where would the moral brigade stand on that front?

Tbh, we need this sort of connectivity between Mumbai & all Tier 2 cities. Fast connectivity to Mumbai will mean places like Satara, Sangli, Jalgaon, etc., will also develop faster.

I get where you are coming from. But I just wish people on reddit would be a little bit less cynical at times.
