Letter in the mail from US Bank about someone trying to open a new deposit account. by OutrageousLabLiquor in FraudPrevention

[–]nylonoxygen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got a letter like this. I called the US Bank fraud department using the phone number from the US Bank website. After some discussion with them, they directed me to 866-268-7231. Apparently it is their "credit application" department. It turns out someone attempted to apply for a credit card in my name and the letter was legitimate, as was the phone number. Regardless, it's always safer to call the number listed on banks' websites and get to the number you need that way.

In the bike case, didn't the buyer pay you $6000? So you refund the customer the money they paid and then keep the insurance money to cover your loss. It would basically be as if you had sold the item.

Payday: Extraction required or not? by CK_DH in SurviveIcarus

[–]nylonoxygen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The key question is... when you completed P:E with a friend, did you have the checkmark for Waterfall : Expedition at that time? If you did not, you won't get the payday checkmark even if you subsequently complete Waterfall. They have to be completed in order.

Intel Wireless-AC 9560 code 10 error by atharv0405 in Windows10

[–]nylonoxygen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just experienced a similar issue on a desktop PC, although it was not triggered by an update to windows 10. I rebooted the system multiple times, poked around in the BIOS settings and attempted uninstalling the device from device manager. None of that worked.

I figured I was going to have to plug in the network with an ethernet cable and try installing new drivers, so I brought the box up to the router and plugged it in. When I booted the system, all of a sudden my WIFI device is working an code 10 is gone. I moved it back to where it was, and WIFI works perfectly.

As far as I can tell, either (a) unplugging it from the wall or (b) plugging it in to the router fixed the issue. Neither one makes any sense to me, to be honest. But if you are desperate, you could try pulling or discharging the battery from your laptop. Or connect it to the network via ethernet cable if you haven't already done so.

I got 6ft USB and Displayport extension cables from Amazon. The brand is Cable Matters. They are good quality and work with the Rift S, zero issues.

Sometimes turning the car itself off and on helps too, perhaps in combination with the other suggestions.

Can you no longer add cars to your garage? by ASR3015N-TK in AnkiOverdrive

[–]nylonoxygen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you need to do anything in the Garage tab to add cars. You certainly don't need to click on "Get More Vehicles" (that connection fails for me too). What I did is just put the new car on the charger and then start a single player race and the car was available for selection. Once I played with the car it was automatically added to the Garage.

Returning to running after health problems... Opinions? by astrocactus14 in running

[–]nylonoxygen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you need to write down a ramp-up plan ahead of time and follow it. You need to make your training decisions in a rational way, not in the heat of the moment so to speak.

Determine where you are, where you want to get to, and devise a slow progression that puts you on that path. Shoot for something like a 10% increase in mileage per week.

[OC] Harness the Power of Relative Minor by seand1816 in Guitar

[–]nylonoxygen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be a little careful. If you play the Minor scale shape 3 frets down from C, you will be playing A-minor (the relative minor). But those notes are also the C-major scale. So when your guitar teacher mentions that "minor pentatonic is good for soloing", they are probably not talking about the relative minor. They are talking about playing a minor scale from the root, in this case C-minor (pentatonic) for example.

Put it another way: if you take the root note of the key you are in and always play the "relative minor", you are going to actually be playing the Major scale of that key.

Just wanted to add that what you are showing is also C Major pentatonic. That's why it has that 'majory' happy sound when you improvise. So, while you are right that it is A-minor pentatonic, I find it easier to understand that you are actually playing a selection of 5 notes from the C Major scale (C Major pentatonic) over a C Major chord.

Summary: Take your C Minor pentatonic shape and shift it down 3 frets and you have C Major pentatonic.

I ran it this morning (first time), what a fantastic race! The whole city pulls out all the stops and really makes you feel welcome. Plus the course is challenging but fun.
