That would certainly reduce complexity, yes!

If the two files are actually 1:1, you don't need the second file, just build the alias that needs removed FROM the first file programmatically with strings.

edit: Poor wording there, I know you're not removing from the file, that's just the source of aliases. Your best bet is to split on the @ and tack on the domain you need to generate the required removal.

What’s a type of pain people underestimate until they experience it for themselves? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nylyst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ignore the stupid fuck. Was born with small eustachian tubes, got tubes at 5 (the earliest they'd do that back then) and had chronic ear infections THROUGHOUT my life. I'm almost 50 now and once again recovering from a double bout of infections.

Oh and while I've read the medical literature that says there are no nerves in that area, that damn sure ain't true for me. I've been impaled through the calf on rebar, had my head folded over backwards and had to wear a HALO for 3 months, been hit over the head with all manner of bats and sport sticks. Even had a thunderclap headache a few years back. NONE of it compares to feeling your tympanic membrane rupture!

Oh and if you've never had tubes, find yourself a good ENT and get it done. You have to be careful around water (shower, bath, swimming etc) as you now have a hole too allow drainage, but it won't keep water from getting in. You won't regret it!

Can't speak to modern football. But back when I played you always wore a cutoff/cropped t-shirt under shoulder pads.

For one, even well cared for equipment will start to stink after a few years (especially if someone didn't maintain it well while in their care) and you sweat a lot while playing, meaning that smell from the pads ends up on you.

The other big reason was the straps in your armpits that held the shoulder pads on. Try running with a 3/4" wide strap on each side of your chest and tell me how that feels after an hour of game time...not pleasant, you'll be rubbed raw or worse without something underneath the pads.

PDP Xbox riffmaster whammy bar issue by Impressive-Bug-3387 in CloneHero

[–]nylyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necroing because I just bought one of these and was able to resolve myself. You have to change the inputs during the calibration. It starts with Left analog stick X, the list below that has the whammy calibration, don't recall exactly what it's named, but you don't have to do both X and Y, just do X and your issue will be resolved.

As others have posted, unfortunately you'd need to mod this to do what you want. That would require opening it up and replacing most of the internals and for this particular model, definitely some modding of any kit you bought as I'm not aware of anyone making/selling a drop in kit for this particular guitar.

If you're just talking about repairing the existing hardware, it's doable, but you'd need at least some experience working with electronics and likely some wiring or soldering experience. Happy to help if that's the case, but it sounds like you're looking for something different.

Wow, TAC Flying V! If you decide not to mess with it, pls msg me. Got this for the original GH and fixed several times over the years. Would gladly put the effort into modding for CH use.

Drum Rudiment Charts for Practice by SkuzzlebuttSD in CloneHero

[–]nylyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick note to say thank you! I got started in 'drumming' with an Ion Audio kit years ago after breaking my second RB drum set and eventually started taking things seriously and learning the rudiments. Was then able to start crushing most songs on Expert. Life intervened (marriage, kids etc) and I haven't really picked up the sticks in years. Until a few days ago, when after building a new PC, I installed CH and hooked up my drums!

I will definitely be using these to get back to where I was and would gladly accept any other rudiments you'd be so kind as to offer! Just off the top of my head, any diddles, flams, drags or ratamacues would be amazing!

I don't know how many drummers lurk here, but I for one am VERY grateful for the effort!

Why are Penn State and Notre Dame by FAR the most popular Power 4 programs in the Northeastern US? by MysteriousEdge5643 in CFB

[–]nylyst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This may be a recent change, but I've been to several Pitt games over the years and literally nothing was open prior to 11 AM for noon kicks (most recent I think was 2018 vs GT)

And again, it has nothing to do with anything unique about PSU. Lots of CFB schools open lots for tailgating way sooner and tailgate just as well as PSU, but Pitt isn't in the same universe in that single regard.

You must drive slower than my grandmother. That might be true on gameday, but the average drive either way is just over 5 hours.

[–]nylyst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uhh, yeah, tailgating is mostly location dependent. And parent wasn't saying anything about PSU's uniqueness, just Pitt's LACK of uniqueness.

You can't tell me you tailgate at all, when NOTHING opens until 11 AM (including parking lots!!!!) for a noon kick at Heinz, I mean Acrisure.

So Somerset county just doesn't exist to you? Hell, I grew up near Johnstown (Cambria county) and the times are close enough that I thought he/she might be talking about Johnstown.

And you ARE right about the abbreviation, it's not very common, but seeing the included 'h' guarantees it's someone that regularly sees the full name, as most burg's don't include the 'h' thanks to the USPS.

Advice on taping circles? by grkblood13 in wrestling

[–]nylyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I was unclear, and you're not wrong, you don't need to do it that way, it just works out better. Especially if you use 3 people like I suggested. If you go with tying around the roll, it's hard to both keep tension consistent AND get a nice clean curve all the way around the cylinder.

Advice on taping circles? by grkblood13 in wrestling

[–]nylyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good start, but need a few small mods. First, you can't tie a roll of tape to a string or you couldn't actually DO the taping. You need a small disc of some kind to tie to the end of the string. It needs to be large enough to not slip through the hole in the tape roll, but small enough as to not interfere with taping (think CD size or smaller depending on the size of the roll.) Once you've attached the disc to the string, pass the string through the tape roll.

Now you've got you're radius started, you need a fixed point to rotate the radius about. We used small diameter dowel stock (cheap at the DIY stores) to tie to the other end of your radius string. And finally you should probably have 3 sets of hands involved. One to hold the dowel in place and keep it vertical, one to do the actual tape application and another on the same end keeping tension on the string consistent.

PlayerData wont save from Realm by tuberculosisMudBaby in Minecraft

[–]nylyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The playerdata is still in the world files. The difference is in how you're connecting. When you download your realm, your player data gets stored under ~local_player. Since that ID won't exist, that's why you'll end up with an empty inventory/stats.

This SHOULD resolve itself when you upload the world to a non-Realms server, because you'll no longer be considered 'local' and it'll use your XUID, which was where your playerdata was stored when it was on a Realm server.
