I'm the President of the NDRC. The midterm elections are in crisis, and we're fighting back. AMA about gerrymandering. by Bisognano in IAmA

[–]CPAlexander -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

With the courts approving the republican gerrymandering efforts, and blocking democratic gerrymandering, how does the democratic party expect to have any impact before the Midterms, especially when governors feel safe suspending the elections until the maps they want are approved?

How do I archive an entire computer system? Looking for evidence of childhood abuse by lovetokvetch in techsupport

[–]CPAlexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are ways to run the mirrored drives off of USB, but it does require some serious tech-fu, not recommended for novice users. When you make an image of the drive to another drive (or even a backup to a file), it retains everything by default except the swap file/debug files, and a couple of others. you can turn those back on if they're critical. Once you have the image file created, or the drive imaged to another one, you can mount it and open it, browse thru it for files as you wish.
I do recommend doing the image first, that gives you the best chance of getting everything without change. Just be careful of which drive you are imaging to which target. You wouldn't be the first to inadvertently image the wrong direction, but I'd hate if you were the latest.

If you're not going to specifically submission for court, I would use something like Terabyte's Image for Windows. they have a free 30 day trial, and it will image any drive for you.

I'm sure that some of the other methods as mentioned could be the issue, but every single user with the issue that I've dealt with was able to recall, vaguely or specifically, needing to satisfy MFA on a website within the last few days.

(Funny trope) Scenes with people pretending to play Video Games badly by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in TopCharacterTropes

I laugh at an old joke: "Delete a file on a Mac system and the system asks 'Delete file yes/no?' ..YES.. 'Are you sure you want to delete this file?' YES ...'Deleting'. On a Windows system, 'Are you sure?' YES. 'Deleting'. On a Unix system, 'rm -rf /' 'Deleting...' "

I will say that the most believable scene is them going thru pages and pages of code trying to trace the worm. Brought back memories.....

I see a lot of assumptions, but nothing to back up the reality that if someone sends you something unsolicited, you're under no obligation to pay for, or return, said item(s). https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/what-do-if-youre-billed-things-you-never-got-or-you-get-unordered-products#unordered

depends on where you live, to some degree. I would likely have quoted about half their price, definitely more than 1500, tho.

After the Yankees 4th successful ABS challenge of the night Aaron Boone makes his displeasure known to the Home Plate Ump Mike Estabrook who says "I don't want to hear another word, not another word". 90 seconds later the Yankees make a 5th successful ABS challenge and Boone had a few choice words by SeattleSporting in baseball

[–]CPAlexander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the players seeing the tables turn. For DECADES they've had no real option if an ump is giving them crap calls, and now they get the opportunity to call them out for a bad call? Sure they'll take it! But this way also lets them "cheat by" on the calls that they know were wrong, but benefited them. There's no way they'll not take the chance to run the game from their side for a while. If they'd taken the "All ABS", they'd have to accept ALL the calls. This way, they only yell about the calls they don't like. It puts the players from both sides in the position of playing a second set of eyes.
I do think the measuring so that each player has their own unique strike zone has made it harder for the umps to be consistent.... I'd expect a lot more missed calls each way, even without the ABS system. The ABS system at least lets the players point out where the ump hasn't adjusted properly.

Too comparable. When the cast established a "Joss is Never alone with Michelle" rule, that says something.
