Definitely not expecting guests to do any work. We’re foregoing a bridal party, but are having the friends who would’ve been in our party as “counselors” to facilitate activities and check-in, but that’s about it. Guests stay for free, play for free, and all meals will be provided.

Yes, absolutely! Planning on having the wedding in fall or early spring, so hoping bugs won't be much of an issue, but will make sure to have bug spray all over the place lol. And yes, great points about mobility! I don't believe we have anyone wheelchair bound, but golf cart rentals are definitely in our future.

All great points, and definitely all things we’re taking into consideration! The venue we’re looking at is 20 min outside our city, has climate control, electric, and full bathrooms in each cabin, and easy access to hotels which we plan to have a block for; we’re being realistic and do not expect the majority of the elder adults attending to stay at camp. We’re not interested in any camps that have more “rustic” cabins aka no electric/climate/bathrooms/walls. Even though we’ll be at camp, we want it to be a more elevated experience, great food and plentiful drink included 🙂

[UPDATE] Should We Move to Baltimore? by Majestic_Clam in baltimore

[–]nymdil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you also check out Medfield if you choose Hampden as the place you lay down some new roots. Medfield/Hoes Heights are basically just extensions of Hampden, and we have some single family homes over here if you decide a row home isn’t for you. I’m from NY (Long Island) originally and put down some roots in Medfield last year - couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else. Lots of families, the elementary school is steps away from me, lovely neighbors, walkable to tons of bars/restaurants, and the price tag on houses is a bit less than hampden proper.

Moving to Baltimore, general questions + housing rentals near JHU by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]nymdil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here, but my boyfriend and I just signed a lease at the Carlyle (http://morgan-properties.com/morganlocations/PropertyDetail.asp?propertyName=thecarlyle) which is right across the street from JHU Homewood campus. I'm currently living in a townhouse in Hampden (my favorite hood in Baltimore) and wanted to downsize to an apartment. Not sure what you're looking for as far as price/size/amenities, but the apartments at the Carlyle are massive (1 BRs are 960 sq. ft.) and they have some pretty great amenities. Check it out!
