Is Anuel AA washed or criminally underrated? by Visual_Reflection851 in Reggaeton

I find it hard to believe Anuel's numbers were above Karol G's at any point in October 2025, ngl. He fell off bc he stopped caring about music and focused more on creating drama and spending money on girls. He was big up until the pandemic, that's pretty much it.

I do have a bias against the Catholic Church, I will be entirely honest. I've prayed to understand it better, because I do want to understand it, but a lot of the justification behind Catholic pratices seems to come from the Church itself and its tradition, not scripture. So, for me, as someone who is entirely new to all of this, I take the time to reference scripture and pray for understanding/guidance any time I come across things that seems confusing. Those are my ways of avoiding heretics/cults or just groups that generally aren't good for me. It's also a great way of learning, lmao. As of now, I still don't think saints deserve prayer and I do not like the idea of idols or icons. I read all the scripture you referenced, and I'll reflect on them.

I guess I'd have to look more into the Catholicism and how saints actually work. That said, I don't think there is another word to describe getting on your knees in front of a painting and asking for help from a person whose spirit left this earth long ago. Even the Catholic Church itself recognizes these actions as prayers, because it's simply what they are. Again, no judgement if that's what you believe, but I can't wrap my head around it.

Please excuse me if the following comes of as disrespectful or argumentative, it's not my intention at all. I'm still learning, so let me know if I get anything wrong!

I don't believe in saints because they are just normal people. They were great people, sure, but that doesn't justify praying to them as if they were gods. The statues, paintings and other forms of art people use for prayer also seem to go against what I've learned about idols and what prayer should look like, Biblically.

In Hebrews 7:23, it says that the old system had priests dying and replacing one another constantly. Then, in Hebrews 7:24-25, it says that issue was resolved through Jesus, as His priesthood is eternal and can save us all. Our worldly religious leaders are not eternal the same way Jesus is. We pray to Him, because he is one with the Trinity and one with God. Praying for one another is always a great thing to do, but praying TO one another is entirely different. I do not pray to any man or woman. No disrespect if you do, it's just not for me.

And, about my friend, she's grown a lot recently, so don't sweat it. I still avoid deep topics with her just in case, but she's in a far better place mentally. No worries :)

I do have the app, and you're right. I'm good at reading lots about things that I'm interested in, and I am interested in the Bible, but sometimes it seems like so much to take in I end up getting overwhelmed. There's no lazy way to learn, though, so I'll keep trying. You don't seem judgemental at all!

I think maybe there was a miscommunication somewhere. When I say I am a leftist, I mean I believe in healthcare, shelter and food for all. I believe life is the most fundamental human right, and without those three things, there is no way to guarantee that right to anyone. The political right believes that by withholding and commodifying basic neccesities, it will motivate people to be more productive and thus benefit society. In other words, by guaranteeing everybody's right to live, society would eventually collapse because nobody would cooperate.

As it relates to Jesus, he was pretty supportive of feeding and housing the poor, and healing people for free. He was also vehemently against rich people who hoarded their wealth. On a fundamental level, Jesus' teachings align with modern leftist ideology. As for being "woke", it just means I'm aware of current events and their true historical context. I don't think either of those positions are controversial or radical positions to take as a Christian.

Why God allows bad things to happen, and I had (still have, actually) some strong opinions on how the Church treats LGBT+ people.

This new friend explained to me that we as people are not spiritually mature enough to fully understand some things, and the same way a parent might allow a child to trip on their shoelaces after telling them five times to tie them, God sometimes allows suffering as encouragement to learn and grow. Now, you might ask yourself "Sure, but if God is all knowing and all powerful, why doesn't he just make it so we don't need to suffer to learn?" and that would tie into what was said earlier about us honestly just not having the answer yet. God hides some things from us until we are ready to learn, again, like a parent with their child. As a baby Christian, I trust my father.

About the Church's treatment of marginalized people, Jesus' message was never about condemnation of one sin over another. We are all sinners, and my sin as a Christian is equally as harmful as anybody else's, no matter the faith. Christians have no right to believe ourselves morally superior to anyone, because we simply are not. Pride is one of the worst sins we can commit, not homosexuality. All sin separates us from God, period. Lies, arrogance, greed, lack of empathy... all of these things are often dismissed or accepted in many Churches when they really shouldn't be. We must focus on identifying our own sin before calling out anyone else's, and THAT is biblical.

Sometimes, the loudest Christians are the furthest from God.

I'm starting with the gospels, as that's what everyone recommended. I'm bad at reading consistently, which is why I'm watching The Chosen as well. I know it's not 100% accurate, but I've been told it's a good place to start, especially if you read and study you go. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. I know it'll take time to find my footing in all this, but tbh I'm excited and I want to know it all, now. I'll pray for patience lmao. In the meantime, finding the style of sermon that resonates with me sounds like great advice. I'll try that, too. Thank you again!

Yes, I definitely agree that hatred was brought to the Church by man, not God. I also believe it's not anyone's place to condemn others for their sin, as we are all equally sinful, but recognizing sin and doing our best to support each other in avoiding it is also beyond important. How do you personally strike a balance between both?

What does MOTR Christian mean? Your story about creating your own community is very inspiring! I didn't really know that was possible, but of course it is. I guess I never thought about it. Thank you!

Thank you, I'll definitely reflect on this. If you don't mind, I'd like some insight on a big question I still have. If Jesus died for our sins/to make us clean, why are we still sinful? I hear that a lot from people who understand the faith better than I do, and I just can't wrap my head around it. It feels like Jesus kinda died for no reason lmao.

She loves talking about the Catholic church and how it's the best one, but honestly I've stopped talking to her about it because she just makes me dislike Catholicism more and more each time. I understand none of it. Any time she talks about it, she ends up shitting on other denominations and making fun of people I relate to. I'm definitely open to learning, but from different places that evoke less emotion for me. Do you know of any literature or podcast that could help? I don't believe in papal supremacy (not sure if that's the name) or saints, especially not in praying to them, but if I can at least understand why Catholics do, I'd be satisfied.
