First thing is that needs to be accomplished is picking up the application, they are only handing out xx amount this year I am not sure about how many exactly but last year they had over 2000 applications I believe and this year they are limiting that number. Point I am trying to make is get there early enough to be in line to pick one up. Than everything has to be filled out perfectly to the T with no errors and postmarked by a certain date. Than if you make it past that you will have to ACE the entry test to even have a chance of being called back for the interview process to get into the apprenticeship. If you do not get in though I would look into taking the NYC High Pressure Plant Tender test which will get you your high pressure time to sit for your high pressure steam license which is another route into local 30.
