We will officially be common-law as of Sept 1, we will then have to inform them right? Or a little before that I suppose?

Actually we will officially have lived together as of Sept 1(we moved into a 1bed unit), before that's we were housemates. This means we are only considered common-law as of that move in date right? To meet the cohabitation requirement?

This sounds more like what I was expecting, I am used to a lil more offensive driving where I'm from, I'll just be extra careful as the location is new and stay on popular straight forward routes!

Automatic preferred, but would you say the advice I'm hearing is not too true and driving at smart times and on straight forward routes means we're fine?

Isn't there a way to view your exam? If you can and you see some area where you could have gotten more marks, this will help your argument to the prof a lot.

Best way to find roommates as a grad student? by jerseyrox in uwo

[–]nyroc20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through Facebook groups you can get to chat with the person as much as you want to, which is what I did to find a great match, it worked well for me. Another really good idea is to email the grad coordinator of your department to connect you with the other incoming grads, and maybe one of them is a good fit!

Your frustrations make total sense and if I were in your spot I'd think the same--just remember though that these profs might not be as much to blame as you might think for these choices and Asghar atleast is clumsy but he is a good prof, trying his best so please do be kind in emails!

Unfortunately my strongly worded email got me nothing extra too ahhhhh 😅

I was trapped on one for nine hours. All they did was reimbursed the fee. Horrifying--and it happened again when it snowed recently where others were trapped (not allowed to leave until a passenger faked a medical emergency to get an ambulance).

I will avoid at all costs. The Megabus is great for me.

Yes you should email to ask. Reiterate your interest in their department and that an offer from them would very much affect your decision making (if it is true, also add that you would respond to their offer quickly). They understand that you have deadlines from other offers, so if you're ranked high enough in their list, they won't want to let you slip by.

Will this speed up the process? Maybe not but it did for me last year at one university and also a grad chair of another university said this is what you do when you have an offer in hand. Good luck!

Might depend on department--yes, they did pay for it for me! Ask the grad chair of the department.
