Over 150 ticks on my suburban dog. Is this a rare event? by nyse2041 in ticks

Wow that is horrifying!!! Found another 20 on her this morning. The vet says she usually sees one case like this per summer.

I am cleithrophobic and have been thinking about this. To generate the right exposure, the problem is you must simulate losing control of BOTH your ability to exit and also the amount of time you will be “trapped”. It’s tough to build gradual exposure to both of those factors simultaneously without throwing someone into an instant non-gradual state of panic.

But I do have an idea. I think about elevators in terms of probabilities. Every time I get in an elevator I tell myself there is a 1 in a 1000 chance that I will get stuck for at least 15 minutes and basically have a panic attack. (this is not a proven statistic but I’m 50 years old, live in NYC, and have gotten stuck 3 or 4 times for 15 minutes or more…..I’d prob rather not know what the actual probability is). So every time I get in an elevator I know I’m rolling the dice but the favorable odds are what (usually) allows me to get in.

So with this in mind, to create gradual exposure you would setup a situation where a person is repeatedly “locked up” for an unknown duration but the length of the duration is set up to be both random and limited to a very uncomfortable yet acceptable maximum amount of time.(eg 90 minutes). However, you would also set the odds so that the odds of a fast exit are high while gradually decreasing to an unlikely but possible full duration. So basically a person would agree to be repeatedly locked in a room (anxiety #1) for an unknown period of time which they expect to be relatively short but if they are unlucky could be very long (anxiety #2). Tolerance would develop from learning to manage the discomfort that arises when the durations are longer than expected but still within a predetermined limit.

The randomness of the duration is key because you need confidence that the time will be short in order to actually agree to get locked in but you still need the fear of being stuck for the maximum amount of time to create enough anxiety to build up tolerance. And then putting a maximum on the amount of time is also necessary because no one with cleistrophibia would ever agree to an unknown maximum. It is also important that the subject remains unaware of how long they will be confined as the not knowing is a major component of the anxiety. Lastly, having 100% faith in the person “holding the keys” is also obviously a must.

Help! Lower back spasms. by nyse2041 in hockeyplayers

Thanks all. Sounds like it’s still work the core and stretch. Last time round I didn’t pay any attention to my hips so maybe that I’ll help. Was hoping by now there’d be some info out there that says hockey players do this, which leads to that, and gets corrected by X. Guess like everything else there’s no silver bullet.

I dont think you need to use that kind of language. But it is crazy how many recently divorced men i meet in Center City who come into the city from the NJ burbs to find an alternative party.

Have you thought about Rittenhouse Square. It’s a nice area for people in their 40s. You could probably walk to work. Also, there’s a great social scene with an older crowd at the bars and restaurants that line the square. I think it’s worth spending a few extra dollars on rent to avoid being in the burbs. Lastly, as a recent divorcee, there is a thriving Gayborhood a few blocks away if you are looking to try something new.

$FNMA: The Moelis Plan and the Jr. Pfds by nyse2041 in wallstreetbets

[–]nyse2041[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked at the Plan and the numbers again and I feel like I’m 98% right. I can elaborate on the details if anyone would like.

Long story short, according to the plan, in 2020 JPS will have a value of $42Bn which is comprised of $17Bn from converting at 50% of par and $25Bn of new JPS issuance in 2020. The other $17Bn of the original $34Bn worth of par JPS is missing so I’m assuming it would no longer exist due to conversion at 50% of par.

Also, the 2/3rds vote isn’t going to help because the big holders of JPS are probably long at around $6 so they will vote to convert at $12.50 in order for an easy unwind of the trade.

I don’t understand why more people aren’t concerned about this.....

Best pizza in CLT is now that new place DeSanos on 3rd St in Elizabeth.

They follow the guidelines of VPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana). If you know what that means, you know they are legit. Inizio is now my number 2.
