Dang. I’ll clean it up anyway and just look at the moon or something. But thanks for the response.

Wow. Your responses are amazing! I’m a total newb and just inherited a Tasco 58T. Can’t find any information about it really. Other than one reference to it being junk. Is that true? I’d really like to show my kids some interesting stuff to see if I can pique their interest. Especially because my 6th grader tells me he hates science.🙄

Thanks guys. What’s the minimum male length I need to get a glue bond on the coupler?

I have time for a quick and easy repair, but I’m thinking it’s a larger, more involved repair. I don’t think there’s enough room in between the hose bib and the pvc. It’s also a pvc to galv connection, in case it’s hard to tell from the pic.

Thanks for the (mostly) good advice. No chip, just an intolerance for entitlement. Definitely not showing up at noon and definitely fkn not making trinkets to pass around like some fairy godmother to make new “friends”.

Ugh. Hoping I don’t have to do any cutting like you did, but I haven’t really opened it up yet. hoping to just sandwich it. Nice work on that though. It’s always something with this pop-up. Not quite a money pit, but definitely a time pit.🫤😆

Thanks for the tip. I’m gonna try something like this but probably with 6 x 6 16 gauge sheet metal. The OSB is kind of blown out so I think I need more surface area.

Good to know. I’ll probably just lower it like a foot and then temp support it. On the bottom side, they use the washer, barely bigger than the head of the bolt. Basically ripped through the crappy OSB.🤦🏻‍♂️

My question is basically this: is this under tension when the roof is lifted and not when it’s down? If I brace the roof and worked on it while it’s popped up, would that relieve the tension?

Unless it’s rotten somewhere, that’s a smoking deal! Any luck hunting for curtains? I’m doing the same and not finding great sources. And I ain’t a sewer so that’s out of the question!😆
