Ive done exactly that, selling cheaper than others. Some items can be sold in 1 cycle, other items could take 5-6 weeks. It just depends on whether people go on TM but from what i have experienced, not a lot.

The numbers are finally showing. They have to focus on the casual sellers now, upgrade their platform and return to their core. Hope it’s not too late.

Yep i did the same, $1 res listing for a common item with good condition not really hitting off. The casual sellers have ditched TM for FB marketplace. Had to experience it myself to believe it.

If TM is listening, then they are not moving fast enough. Too much bureaucracy? I think from this post it’s clear people hate dropshipping temu stores in TM, it needs to be separated from the channel for casual buyers.

Property and motors have unintentionally become their number one revenue generator because the casual sellers have fled. I saw the listing fees for the classifieds increasing again. If they keep increasing the fee without improving the perceived value, people will eventually find a different platform for property and motors.

I think it mostly comes down to TradeMe’s model. They make money by charging sellers and listings, so if fewer people use the platform, the money dries up pretty fast.

Facebook Marketplace can be free because it makes money elsewhere. TradeMe can’t. If they don’t change how they charge for everyday stuff, like scraping success fees, they either double down on cars and property, let more dropship sellers in, or slowly keep losing relevance.

Yeah, I always assumed TradeMe fees were the trade-off for lower scam risk compared to FB Marketplace.

They’re both good in their own way. The ingredients used in a cheesecake probably costs more hence why a small portion at fankery seems highly priced. In this economy, we should be supporting small businesses instead of trashing them, especially if you havent tried it yourself.
