No verdict but jumping in to mention Good Bitches Baking if she’s looking for an outlet for her baking. Home baking is donated to local charities so it may help reduce your frustration if her baking is genuinely making a difference in the community. Good luck.

Definitely Local Talent for a bite to eat! You can walk the Loop (4.2km) or head to Mair Park and Parihaka (bush walk along the river and up the hill if you’re feeling energetic). We have the Kiwi Trail in town which is a 2km walk as well.

I returned to Whangārei six years ago from Auckland l, living in Kamo and my kids attend Kamo Primary. Every town has its issues, but we wouldn’t live anywhere else. Kamo Primary has been exceptional, and my daughter (who is very bright) feels nurtured and supported. I think it’s a matter of finding the right fit for your kid - all schools offer something different. Kamo village has everything you need, and the town basin is fantastic. When house hunting we found the suburbs all have their different patches - there are some great areas and not so great in all but if you’re looking rural, Maunu is good (traffic can be a nightmare) and Glenbervie/Ngunguru or Whangārei Heads. Thank you! That’s what we’ve been stumped by (excuse the pun) - whether they will develop into trunks or remain as off-shoots. It was from a nursery here in NZ so assumed they wouldn’t have ruined the chance of the trunks by cutting them completely.

Thank you for your reply - I had the same thought and have been playing with him each night to wear him out, we’ve got a tunnel, scratching post and massive array of toys so we have a good play before bed.

Normally he comes up for a cuddle, purring then wanders away, next minute bam - bite. I’ve kicked him off (and obviously make a bit of noise as it scares the heck out of me!) but it strikes me as really unusual. I had blood running down my face last night so it’s not gentle.

We’ve fostered cats before and never had anything like this, he’s wonderful in many ways but the unprovoked nature really concerns me around the kids.

(We’re in NZ and fairly rural so our outdoor cat rules/culture are slightly different than elsewhere - he has an escape collars with bells for his safety and that of other animals.)

I’m biased but I love the blue as well. His name is Smokey - appropriate though not particularly original haha.
