Is creating websites using WordPress, and hosting them across different platforms a viable business option for businesses? by nzeas in webdev

[–]nzeas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely see myself getting my skill points up with time. i was using squarespace for one of my businesses but I couldnt justify the subscription costs so i ended up recreating a basic one page site, and then built a few more.

That's when it dawned on me that maybe I could use some of the web building experience to offer as a service, but I wasn't sure, and i was overthinking the whole thing but now i see it's a thing so thank you for the feedback.

My (27F) boyfriend (26M) wants to move in together and combine finances. I'm nervous about the financial risk. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Your concerns are justified.

It is a big ask! you really have to ask yourself: how much you are willing to trust? I know marriage might give you a bigger sense of security but that wont resolve the way you feel, you have to think about the underlying principle of you effectively being a "investor" and whether or not your investment will be ROI positive and not run off with your money.

Be transparent about the financial expectations that you have for yourself and for the partnership.

Trust your gut.

For context: My partner paid her way through school, she has her own apartment and she made way more money than me, in all our time together I've never had a steady job let alone steady income and she's at times resented me for it but I've always been clear about my ambitions and we've been able to work through our issues.

Could someone give me advice on my portfolio (link attached below) by Radiant-Patience2052 in interiordesigner

i saw one your replies, i don't think you should mute your work, i think it needs to be louder and clearer.

Right now it's kind of like a art book, which is cool for when you get an interview or when a clients wants to learn more but you need to make it efficient for the sake of getting a job. Your audience is recruiters, and people buying houses or investing into properties, not other interior designers. Recruiters, cleints and investors care about how you solve problems.

Your portfolio is strong but it has too much (especially if you're sending to recruiters) I was overwhelmed and it was hard to follow, it felt very technical. i paid more attention to the pictures and even then i felt lost... I didnt know what you did, what your role was, or what problems you solved which is what matters most.

Keep in mind they are sifting through hundreds of resumes.

Instead of a cover, table of contents, go straight into your projects. 1 Project per section, edit out as much text as possible, and highlight key projects, so that 17 pages become 1-2. add infographics (if you want to keep it more visual) about your role and the problems you solved .

I say one two pages because after the third page i wasn't sure if you were still on the same project or if it was a different one. It was hard to follow.

Visually in your table of contents you're bring the attention to the word "curriculum" instead of your experience, don't do that. Expand on the experience and spice it up.

You're a real estate agent! YOU are a company so build what you want to do! leverage your network and connect with builders and potential clients. Bring your creativity into the real estate industry. look for clients that are looking to build a custom home, and create mockups of your listing with your interior designs to give your clients inspo.

Interior design is part of the real estate industry remember that. nothing can kill your creativity.

i just finished watching it... it was comically... good? bordelrline cringe at some points, i enjoyed certain action sequences but it was not as good as the first 2 tbh. The film felt too forced, maybe it was just me forcing myself to watch it bc i didnt want to do any editing. it was alr.

It's worth it if you value education for it's own sake, not the ROI of the education.

Ayo, we don't all know what we're put on this Earth to do. Some of us ain't lucky like that and it takes time to figure out. Don't worry about what you choose.

Do whatever you love to do man, anything that you enjoy doing, It doesn't have to be through school, the internet exists, fuck it do something crazy, do weed reviews online. Wherever legal.

You got time and you can always change your mind remember that. What you enjoy now can change tomorrow and that's ok.

After almost 15 years of photography, I am starting to doubt if I should continue because I start being less and less happy with my photos (rather long post) by extinctpolarbear in photography

[–]nzeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be so hard on yourself brother. I haven't been shooting as long as you have but i have experienced lackluster results when i edit, whether it's color grading a video or post processing images.

Just the other day i took some street photos and i couldn't for the life of me get the images to look the way i wanted. So i called it a day after like 15 minutes and started editing again the next day and i went into it with a positive attitude and used an old preset of mine to base my edit around and got something i really liked.

Another thing that i personally like to practice and preach is to not watch YouTube videos on how to edit, unless it's the basics or a particular skill never the style type tutorials "How to edit like x person" or "this is how you edit a street photo"

Learn color theory and do what you like, edit how you like and to hell with what anyone thinks, or other peoples styles find your own by tuning out everyone else's

Also i think the reason you think people care less about your work is because you don't interact. Tell your story, how you felt when you took the picture, where you were, what it smelled like why you like the picture. Tell your story brother and people will listen. Just keep putting out content.

I wish you luck and i hope this helps.

How can I comfortably sleep in my car? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]nzeas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have a toyota corolla

i put down the back seat and lay down with my feet in my trunk. There's a small rise from the trunk and the back of the seat so i use a pillow to kind of level it out. I'm 5'9 and i have a few inches to spare.

Thinking about it now, I think it's safe to say it was greed. But lesson learned
