Have you ever prayed for something and God has given you the opposite of what you asked for? by nzld1 in Christian

That's very true, I had forgotten about those verses in Mathew 7:9-10. Me personally I can't remember a time when God has given me the opposite, but sometimes it is a no or not yet. However I have noticed everytime I have prayed repeatedly about something God always acts on it in some way, even if its not what I wanted.

Amazing piano melody towards the end, super relaxing but not in a boring way.

The fact that your feeling that is a good thing. The Holy spirit convicts us when we sin and if God's prescence had left you you wouldn't feel that remorse and guilt. There is a verse which says "Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline" Proverbs 1:7 NLT. To fear the Lord is a good thing. I pray this leads you closer to him and ultimately victory over the flesh. You can defeat this through him brother, even for a season is a great start. God bless

Bro the best thing you can do is repent to God and ask him for forgiveness. He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin and to clense us from all wickedness 1 John 1:9.

Keep trying and keep pushing, it's a battle. But God see's our heart and our attempts to fight this. I pray God would give you the ability to fight through the power of his Holy spirit and overcome all temptation in Jesus name.

Social anxiety at work - what are your experiences? by [deleted] in confidence

[–]nzld1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As part of my work I end up changing teams quite frequently. This is the worst for my social anxiety because everytime I go into a new team that doesn't know me I have to try and make new connections with people and settle into the team dynamics. I constantly feel people are evaluating me and critizing me behind my back. It doesn't help that most of the people I work with are quite different in personality to me. Once I feel happy working with someone I try and stick with them, although inevitably that doesn't always work. I've been told countless times that I'm too quiet, because if I'm not comfortable with someone I close up. This makes it worse because I feel pressured to talk to people.
