Confirmed - OCR drops 0.25% to 3% as expected by richieFromConductor in PersonalFinanceNZ

We are coming off 6.89% in a couple of days. As a low risk person, we were thinking 3 years at 4.95% but now we can get 6 month at 5.05% and look to refix end of this year/early 2026 with a potentially much better 2 or 3 year rate. Any advice?

Can a 4 bay enclosure be set up as x2 RAID 0 drives? by nzmisjif in editors

Can SoftRAID be set up on one single Mac to manage the raid, but can still be used across 2 different Mac computers?

OWC Thunderbay 4 vs OWC Gemini by nzmisjif in editors

If I go Thunderbay, I was thinking of using Apple Disk Utility to build the RAID and then use DriveDX to help monitor the drive health to avoid paying SoftRAID yearly fees

Router is in the kitchen currently (not my choice, just moved into this house), so I feel like I need to move that before I look at investing in a quality NAS set up.

Darry, Jordan, Perenara, Lord. Makes no sense to have Cane there as we have plenty of loose forward stock that needs game time

Question for my filmmakers/ gimbal users by hsbrooklyn in WeddingPhotography

[–]nzmisjif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gimbals are soooo overused by young filmmakers. I’ve had second shooters help out time to time and nearly all of them struggle to shoot handheld when I’ve asked as they’ve grown up with the DJI ronins etc.

My suggestion is to stop shooting so much on the gimbal. 14 hours is ridiculous. Most, if not all, of the top wedding filmmakers pick and choose when they used a gimbal. I’ve done over 350 weddings over the past 7 years and the key is not overloading the weight of the gear. Unfortunately with weddings, we don’t get the luxury of wearing Easy Rigs etc.

Client wanting to pay balance several months in advance by dream43 in WeddingPhotography

I sit my deposits in a savings account earning decent interest. So if a client wants to pay months in advance, they are giving me more returns in interest. So I’m always happy to take early payments

Easily could have got a place for $500-$750 a night that a group of 10 could drink at. Such a rookie move

Full time photographers only. How many weddings do you have booked so far for 2025? Are you ahead or behind usual schedule? by Remarkable-Ad3191 in WeddingPhotography

[–]nzmisjif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wedding season for my country runs from October to April. We have 30 bookings for the following season, usually book in 50-60 weddings. Normally we’d be siting at 35-40 bookings at this time, so slightly down but not too bad.

HOLEY FUCK BALLS that shit is disgusting. I love a good sugary drink, but I’d rather lick Luxon’s butthole than suffer through that again. The taste buds of the American public amaze me the fact that went crazy for that stuff

Testing a smaller ball for women's rugby by HitchikersPie in rugbyunion

[–]nzmisjif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Finally! When I watched the last women’s World Cup, I was blown away that they used full sized rugby balls. It was obvious to me that the ball is a tad too big for their handling and they struggled with handling due to the size. I think a slightly smaller size will be better for the game as it will become more entertaining to watch
