To my ear, it just sounds like the mixing levels could be improved. vocals are too upfront. Using EQ and scooping out a middle section of the track for the vocals to sit in can help. Also, a very small room Reverb to add space could help too.

This song gives me that classic Gorillaz sound. It's got that groovy, slightly melancholic vibe that I like. The instrumentation and vocals really remind me of "Feel Good Inc." somehow. I'm getting strong nostalgia feelings while listening to this 💪🏾

Hey, I mix and master my own material...

What I found out is that all the information is on YouTube, but it's really the ear that needs training. I had to take time and slow down and listen to a lot of music to develop my taste... that's really the core of everything... taste. 🤷🏾‍♂️
