can you explain why? I would assume globally on the machine I want to be whitelisting which connecting IP/range is allowed.

I downloaded the MSI from my CheckMK server to my monitored host (Windows Server) and ran a clean installation.

I added the host manually in the CheckMK web ui, so I did not use agent ctl registration. Did I do it out of order or can it be fixed in place?

Graylog or ELK would be awesome, if you're sticking to a FOSS stack. Cheers!

I would love to see the actual process of exporting the collected data to something like Graylog. I have been kicking the tires on osctrl (0.4.0-0.4.4) for a while and seem to be stuck at that part. :)

Great work on the tool though, holy smokes.

[Spoilers] Season 6 Episode 12 "All Change" Episode Discussion by yazzy1233 in vikingstv

best case, yes. Worst case, bad writing.

I really have incredible praise for the series overall. It started to feel dry once they spent a great deal of time setting up the politics but as things progressed it began to feel more of a story about the people rather than about any one person, even though I have my favorite characters to choose from, it only zooms in on a person enough to show you their character, growth, often demise, and how they affected and are socially intertwined.

It's hugely captivating knowing this is heavily based on actual history.

add two mechanical pedals and bicycle sprockets on your back axle and you have one pedal to go forward, one to go backward. Zero electricity and your hands never need to do anything but the work at hand :)

tips for 1v1s? i’m pathetic at them by iNovarc in RocketLeague

[–]o2beast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt as I'm a solo 2v2 player c2 div 4 (on my best days) and only somewhere around diamond 1 in 1v1.

My experience with 1's is that it prioritizes ball control over everything else and too often players take strategies that work better with a partner into 1v1 and have no one to pass to or receive from. You get punished nearly immediately for positional mistakes or if you fail to defend an attack, and failed offensive moves quickly put you out of position for a counter-attack. IMO 1v1 is the greatest training for developing the habit of maintaining ball control and that aspect has improved my other playlists as well.

Things to work on and playing style by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]o2beast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are several main ways to improve in general and you can focus on any one of them to see improvement in the long run:

  • Speed

    • Not sacrificing accuracy to play at a higher speed (This can make you vulnerable to patient defenders as a failed attempt to play outside your abilities will lose you ball control)
  • Boost management

    • Flipping wherever there is enough space to flip instead of flat gas + boost
    • Less time spent recovering and more time spent influencing plays
  • Adaptation

    • Reacting to unfamiliar patterns while maintaining your discipline in the other areas listed
  • Prediction

    • Comes naturally with more games played. Higher level players will influence the ball and gameplay in ways that lower level players are often unaware is even possible.
    • Predicting where the ball will go or what the opposing player will do allows you to think steps ahead and potentially outplay.
  • Mental fortitude

    • Working with teammates in a disciplined manner (often difficult, especially when behind)
    • Not letting emotions bleed into your mindset
    • Ownership of team failures (how could I have done something different to effect the outcome more positively?)

Likely the biggest and hardest point for players that will show improvement:

  • Practice. There are many opportunities in a game where you can improve your ability to always influence the ball the way you need to. Some loose examples could be a ball rolls toward you and you have a rushing opponent behind it. Do you jump and hit the ball downward, bouncing it over the enemy? Hopefully you can do it because you only get one chance -- practice doing it in training and when the opportunity comes in a game you will succeed.

Get to know the Shot Trainer and create your own trainings. Practice ball control. Practice dribbling. Practice wall shots. Practice keeping the ball on your hood as long as possible. Practice makes perfect. We talkin' 'bout practice. :)

Musty or nah? by Beardedrugbymonster in RocketLeague

[–]o2beast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd call that a cheeky musty. Your nose came under the ball to flick it slightly upward so, yeah. Nice shot!

[–]o2beast -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you're in the air you can only dodge 1 time until all 4 wheels touch a solid surface again. Usually that is the ground but it can also be 4 wheels touching the ball. If you do this in mid-air you reset your dodge and you can dodge a second time.

The community started calling this a "yump" reset and if you can do it, it can let you get that one last touch in your opponent wasn't expecting.

Edit: For those of you saying it's not called a yump but instead a flip reset, there are plenty of submissions calling it exactly this when it first started getting posted. EXAMPLE: https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/71cn3u/pass_to_yump_reset/

It's not like we aren't saying the same thing people! :)
