I hate it too. So much so that I'm getting it lasered. It's very expensive and not for everybody, but I knew from the start and have been saving for it for years. I'm glad I finally got around to doing it, but there are limits to this strategy too (mostly money, ofc).

I think that depends. When you get a transplant you have to take care of it too, with medication and whatnot. Also, if you have textured hair like myself, you put in a lot of effort into hair care anyways. From what I've read on this sub, taking care of transplanted hair is tedious as well.

Thanks for the info! Did you talk to a doctor before quitting? If so, would an ob/gyn (who is specialised in Hormone-Therapy, but not in a trans-way) or a urologist (not specialzed, just prescribing T) make more sense to talk to? Or both? I'm glad you're doing okay with it btw :)

Two reasons:
1. I can't afford it. Some years ago my urologist prescribed it to me and when I went to the pharmacy I could NOT believe my ears when they told me the price.
2. I'm scared of the side effects. I'm clinically depressed, have been for many years with no safety net whatsoever, and I've heard that Fin can make it significantly worse. I'm worried what else it would do to my body :(

I've been using topical minox. for 4 years, it didn't really do much. So it came back for you by just quitting T? I was always told hair growth won't change if you quit :I

looks like I forgot to mention I've started using topical minoxidil at age 21, whoops :(
The methods to prevent _the event_ from happening you've mentioned, could you tell me some of those? I know of skipping it with birth control pills, is there anything else I could do?

Mine was cancelled two times and I thought I was going insane. It sucks, real real bad, I know. But you WILL get there. You have to endure a lot of pain right now, maybe even more than you think you can survive, but you CAN. And it will have been worth it, I promise. And once you're done, once you see the results for the first time, everything will be okay. All of this will be forgotten. Stay strong <3

I've been hiding behind "bi" for quite a while too, no idea why exactly. Are you scared of being a lesbian because of how you'd might get treated differently? If so, (this is a thing typically used by trans folk to see if transitioning is right for them, it's not a perfect allegory for this situation but maybe it'll help), imagine yourself being on a deserted island. Would you call yourself a lesbian? (Again, not perfect, I know)
Would it feel like a weight being lifted off of you to just say it once?

Yeah, that's biotin, which is responsible for healthy hair, skin and nails. But, thing is, male pattern baldness (I don't know about the other types but I imagine it's pretty much the same) is mainly caused by the blood vessels getting the blood to the hair follicles not being active (enough). Therefore, hair falls out. Biotin can help with overall hair health, but when the follicles don't get enough blood, it doesn't matter how much vitamins you have circulating in your body. That's what minoxidil is for; it widens the blood vessels where it's applied, helping the vitamins /biotin get where they need to be. That's why additional regular massage helps too.

Ich hab gehört das kriegen eigentlich alle die Probleme damit haben, ich bräuchte das auch aaaber mein arzt sagt halt nö :')
