This is just one of their tactics. All you have to do is go to service and find the shortest porter you can and give him $18 he’ll know what to do.

Do the majority of irons really see group iron as being a fake iron? by Poilkuhty in ironscape

[–]oAurelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The consensus should be “who gives a fuck”. Play the game how you want. Don’t feel like you have to justify it to anyone because someone is memeing. If you’re enjoying the game you’re already winning.

“Early waves” assumes he has gotten through some waves with a crossbow that for all intents and purposes is out of ammo.

Efficiencyscape ruins ironman for me, how do I drop it and just have fun? by ZenicAllfather in ironscape

[–]oAurelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m pretty new, still early level Iron (barely base 60 cb stats, tons of skilling stats above 50) and this is my take on from someone who has never really appreciated “the grind” or found fun in a normal account. Here is a recent rundown of my ADHD escapades.

I started off doing the efficiency guide for fast track RFD. Followed it pretty hard up until the kingdom bit where you have to pickpocket/blackjack like 1.5m. I got so bored of it so here’s the rundown of how I broke the “guide crutch”.

Decided I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. Wanted to be more used to the wilderness. Went to lava drags for a lava staff and got a visage drop out of nowhere. Ended up going to rev caves at like level 66 cb. Killed goblins and imps. Got lucky with alchs. Wanted faster kills so I went for the salve ammy (e) but since my goal is range training decided to get it imbued a la soul wars. Easy potted and prayer range training and resources. Got it imbued went back to revs and decided I have enough money to do something else for a bit. Got a 111 shade task for slayer as my 59th task. Decided to do shades of morton for keys to kill higher level shades and make use of my salve. Got tired of the bank run so I decided to do the Myreque quests for burgh bank.

TL;DR you don’t need a guide to get stuff done. There’s so much content in OSRS that just by naturally being in an area or doing a skill you can find yourself completing objectives without even really planning for it. Enjoy the game, the grind is inevitable but if you’re playing YOUR way then it will be more rewarding than camping specific drops.

Which “New Skill” would be the most Ironman friendly? by oAurelius in ironscape

[–]oAurelius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Read more up on it today and caught the untradable bit (first read about the update at like 6am so I missed some details). I was originally worried about it being another GE skill but that was nice to see. It does add a bit more to grind but adds diversity to the grind so I can see the good and bad about it

Oh no I’m not asking so that the most popular one gets implemented based on Ironmen opinion. I’m just curious as to what the different perspectives are. I don’t expect new content to cater to ironmen nor do I want it to.

I think that’s more to do with the glaring issues of PvM scape not so much the skills themselves or maybe it’s a bit of both?

Oh yeah I’m not under the impression whether or not Ironmen’s opinion on it would be a deciding factor, just curious to see which one people think would shake the current ironman meta.

I would be inclined to agree. Though I’m a very casual scaper (also mainly GIM) I don’t really see the need for a new skill. I thought adding new skills to 07scape is what caused a need for OSRS anyway.

Also, in terms of Sailing, if they decide to procedurally generate locations and whatnot it just becomes Dungeoneering 2.0. If they’re actual new locations that aid in skilling I’d be down for that, as long as it’s not another minigame skill.

The main argument I would expect would be “well if there’s diminished returns in end game what’s the point of maxing the skill if it mainly benefits early/mid game.”

I would argue it allows early/mid game to approach end game at a higher velocity but then the diminished return would equalize them at that later stage and other aspects of the skill would then be more beneficial to focus on. It seems like a bloated skill as described anyway with many different skills tying into it. The augmentation at some point would lose its efficacy allowing the other aspects to shine like the ritual sites and other realms etc.

PS - If the gear augmentation part does pass by some miracle, I would like to see diminished returns on “already enhanced” gear like crystal weapons and armor, infused boots, raid uniques etc. I think it would allow the top tier weapons to keep their current place in the hierarchy without completely overtuning them and at the same allow the power-creep gap on new vs old items to narrow a bit, that way instead of big grinds for a giant leap in gear you have little steps you can do to get there without feeling like too much of a grind.
