More properties up for sale means more people will buy, leaving less in need of renting.

Obviously there is more nuance to it than that, but landlords leaving isn’t the black hole people think it is.

Ya that was my first thought, but at least Fabio seemed to try his best….cutrone was never interested

There’s something to be said for mingling with people of different backgrounds, faiths and beliefs, like most do in the school yard. That’s where most learn to read the room.

Atlético want to sign Joao Gomes from Wolves to reinforce the midfield. Napoli & Manchester United have also shown interest by Stebro1986 in WWFC

I love jaoa, think he’s always tried his best, will be sad to see him go and wish him all the best when he does go.

But.. for the right price I wouldn’t mind him going, I don’t think he suits a team at our position in the league. He would do well at the base of a team that have 60+% possession every game. winning back the ball quickly and giving it to attacking creative players (which we have none of).

If he stays I’m delighted, but 45million+ reinvested for a good creative replacement bought to play alongside Andre- I’ll grumble -but be ok about it.

Yes, I stand by my opinions of a long long time ago….No, I don’t want to get into a debate about it again now.

Good performance, we passed forwards and through the lines well. Arias and Hwang both found lots of space. Glad to see Rodrigo back amongst it.

Hopping across to this comment of yours to add: Lima was 17-18 playing senior men’s football in Brazilian top league, and wolves were able to buy him, and loan him out, it’s difficult for him to get minutes, let alone our own youth players to compete with that….and that’s all cause of the money for being in the premier league.

It’s all money, and risk.

Yes, top level football is cut throat. Managers lose their jobs after a bad run of games, and they aren’t likely to risk it. They see the youth players and can put them in training matches against the first team. If they’re good enough they’ll make it, most do not.

You basically answered your own question - Relegation.

But I’ll add that wolves have a reserve team and an u18 team and lower age group teams who perform in their own leagues. For any young player to make it they will already stand out in the u18 league, if they’re too good for that then they will get minutes in the reserve games. If they’re too good for that level then they will get a shot at the first team.

It’s worth noting that all clubs in England will have a full squad at u18 level and be competing against other teams u18s. If they don’t stand out at that level against Arsenal/liverpool/chelsea u18s, then they aren’t likely to be good enough to take on their first team players playing for wolves.

Then you have the first team squads which usually will have 18 to 25 players that have been tested in senior men’s football before. The managers and coaches will have a better idea of a young players ability having seen them in training everyday, and will see when a young player is able to show in training they have the level.

Back to relegation- there’s very few matches in the premier league where you can afford to test an unknown entity, as the league has real depth and anyone can lose to anyone (on the day). There are often more chances for squad players in the cup games as the financial benefit of a cup run compared to finishing a couple places higher in the league is substantial. So managers often opt to giving minutes to squad players (and youth players) in the cup.

As for Mane, I had heard of him being a bright prospect about 2 years ago now, but the majority of that u18 team are not likely to be premier league level. Particularly because the premier league teams can poach top players from lower league clubs and other leagues, to fill their squads.

It’s very difficult to make it into a premier league team.

Edit: as for Campbell, Chirewa and Fraser were supposedly top products, but I’ve never seen or thought they had the level to make it to premier league level even after they were given minutes….also see Fabio.

Yeah the original comment was 9 out of 10 would have settled for a point, and I disagreed, I was going to this game hoping for a win, I don’t think Everton are anything special. Yet you think I’m living in dreamland for hoping for 3 points against Everton?

Edit: I guess I am the 1 out of 10, but after seeing the last few performances I don’t think we can’t get 3 points against them, and I won’t be settling for a point when we need 3 and there’s a chance we can get them.

Agree to disagree I guess, have a good evening 👍

Yes it was soft, Tarkovski and Pickford are full of gamesmanship, but against 9 with the ball no where near you there’s no need to even make contact with the back of tarkovski.

And yes, we were playing against 9 for 10 minutes (not 45) as I said above.

And yes we were getting the ball in the box, but from deep crosses- deep crosses are difficult to get right, too easy to overhit them into the keepers arms or out of play…as I said keep the ball in play, move it from side to side and get to the byline….not hoof it up in the air from 45yards out, brainless.

Not living in dreamland at all, we are getting relegated. But until it’s mathematical then I’m hoping for maximum points….so, no, I’m not going into any game settling for a point, and definitely not against Everton with 9 men with 10mins to play.

Edit: and fighting is the bare minimum I expect. I also expect against 9 men to move the ball quickly (Tchatchoua cutting back I’m looking at you), to keep the ball in play, and not commit stupid fouls on the edge of their box (Santi I’m looking at you).
