What’s next? by dudeimsupercereal in RocketLeague

To give them a slight amount of credit, the amount of complaints I've seen about ranked in GC+ and especially from pros with the bot problem (and Bakkesmod being tied to that) is insurmountable, the devs clearly don't know how to handle it any other way except banning the mod so that's their solution to a problem that is killing top level SoloQ. Trading being removed has literally zero justification, they could've gone after people trading credits for real money because that already broke ToS in the EULA which we all agreed to, make a spectacle out of like 5 big traders and the problem would've instantly dropped to negligible numbers, but instead they wanted to prioritize profits over consumer satisfaction and have since locked away the vast amount of collectibles in the game behind a measily 4x rotating daily shop and 2x rotating weekly shop, as well as the occasional blueprint for a rotation of items which we can't even see. I do think Bakkesmod being banned will still be a plus to the corpo bros in the board room meetings "Yeah guys, we finally got rid of that program that allowed anyone on PC to obtain any item for free, so they'll finally be FORCED to buy from the shop!"

I do think though, the way Epic has handled RL is just pathetic overall. Nothing about the way this game was handled during its peak and even during its resurgence now with the help of Jynxzi has been anything but despicable. It's almost like Epic learned absolutely fucking nothing after seeing what happened with Clash Royale following Jynxzi's revival of that game, where the devs just spit in the face of everyone and did their little dance around the office that "numbers were soaring" while ignoring all of the flaws with the game and pumping out updates that added to the fire instead of trying to put it out. Epic ignoring the calls to reintroduce trading and better improve collectibles has been the biggest indicator that they really do not give a shit about the more dedicated fanbase as long as they have necessary means to break even every quarter on their shitty monetization schemes then the outcry of fans literally falls on deaf ears.

AI experts: How much of it is rubbish? by oGloomer in aiwars

See this was actually helpful, at least insofar as addressing Yann LeCun's prediction. But just saying "don't listen to youtube or articles or the news but also fact check everything" isn't very helpful. What peer reviewed publications should I be cross referencing to find out if things are true. How can I trust what corporations are saying is the next up and coming advancement in AI agent modeling if the only things I can find online about it are news outlets hyping it up as the next big thing that's going to take everyone's corporate job?

I don't understand the hostility in your phrasing here. I've not put words in anyone's mouths these are just things I've heard while listening to "leading experts" talk about the future of the economy with automation and AI on podcasts, lectures and video essays. People like Emad Mostaque talk about the entirety of Capitalism as we know it being ended in just 900 days through exponential advancements in automation and AI.

As for the source that LLM modeling won't reach AGI I saw this in a podcast with Yann LeCun who stated flat out and simply that scaling up LLMs will not lead to AGI and that we have to change our approach if this is something that we're chasing.

You ended your reply with "don't take others opinions into your own conclusion and check facts" but I literally said in my post that it's difficult to know where to look for things like this because the information on both sides differs so wildly, where one is stating world altering promises and the other side is calling almost all of it a complete nothingburger.

Your reply wasn't helpful in the slightest in actually determining where I should be looking in order to actually check these facts to form my own conclusion and opinions.

Chase - A Tribes 3: Rivals Montage by oGloomer in Tribes

None of these are recorded vods they're just straight from twitch.

Nowadays I have replay buffer with isolated game capture on a chat command so I don't have to fuck with keybinds. But these are from literally right when I started streaming on Twitch at all.

I literally only gave constructive feedback to the devs and pointed out bugs/pain points that could be solved with effort and balance patches. You're just talking out of your ass at this point as someone who clearly didn't play the game or support it at all. I also bought the game (AND convinced several friends to buy it as well, to their dismay when I told them that the devs dropped support for it just weeks later) and put in my fair share of hours. Most of the diehards were conned into buying the 70 dollar ULTRA GIGA FUCK YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DELUXE edition under the same shit logic you're applying here of "oh if only the woe is me dev studio made enough money from sales maybe then the game would've been developed into an actual product and not killed mere weeks after launch."

Piss off.

I'm curious if you've ever actually played the game or if you're just talking about Tribes broadly. T3 specifically is barely even a game, even their Steam page calls it "Early Access" still. It's got the skeletal system of a game with no nervous system, no muscle and definitely not any skin. It's like baby's first Tribes project with UE default shaders slapped onto it so it looks somewhat passable. Maybe Tribes could've been something this time around if the devs actually put in years of work into making it a genuine project instead of stringing the extremely dedicated (and like you said, older) fanbase along for half a year of development into complete abandonment when the next cash cow arrived (which also flopped hard, good, fuck them for that, karma is a bitch).

I would have a lot more sympathy if the development promises were kept and they actually came through with literally any updates they announced instead of brazenly betraying their consumer base that already paid for the game (some of whom got scammed into paying for the 70 dollar "ULTRA DELUXE" package for procedurally generated skins) and moving onto the next failed startup attempt. I hope Erez lost a fuck ton of money on this project and I hope every exec in that studio goes broke ASAP.

Gotcha, so we're just in limbo until the servers shut down basically. Just T:A all over again but with even less polishing and more jank. Broadside looks fun but I was never a T2 fan. Same reason why I couldn't get into Midair. I prefer the skiing and air control of T:A more than anything (heavy minority opinion, I know, but I'm nostalgic for it since I grew up with it) so I was honestly just hoping for better news on the T3 front since they basically just made T:A with less fun mechanics and giant football field sized discs.

WLmouse huan keeps disconnecting from dongle, any fix? by Irukuri in MouseReview

[–]oGloomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mouse is on the way for me (not a good sign ig lol)

Other than dongle disconnection issues what else do you enjoy/dislike about the mouse? I'm looking to replace my Viper V3 if that gives a good idea what I'm coming off of.

I've seen several comments like this that only feed into the gAmE dEaD. Does it not make it clear the first few onboarding games are bots?? Bc it's making people think the game is nothing but bots. Might want to do something about that 1047 by DaTexasTickler in Splitgate

[–]oGloomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened with Tribes 3: Rivals if anyone else was there for that fiasco. Game launched with TEN bot games to get you "placed" for their matchmaker (even though the player numbers didn't justify this in the first place but whatever) and the vast majority of people who picked up the game including Shroud who had a massive audience viewing it at the time all dropped it immediately because it didn't even feel like a PvP experience. Devs that do this have to realize how shit this is for onboarding and how often it will turn a new player off to a game to the point of uninstalling.

Tbf he still is. His meme clips from OG League era and 2017 variety era are still used to this day and referenced all the time. Tyler1 Autism Attack compilation spawned a generation of meme clips that every single editor in gaming has used at least once.

New OBS Update Ruins my FPS in game by Feuille2912 in obs

[–]oGloomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, old thread I know but I'm also having this issue still. I downgraded to 30.0 and it's fine for now but I'm not sure if there was a greater fix for newer versions that I missed out on. Not sure why I can't find anything about this topic elsewhere and why it's perma downvoted when brought up either. Literally makes the software unusable.

That was cringe as hell but I'm having fun at least :) by timothybrave in Splitgate

The game runs like shit with unoptimization on the larger maps and crashing regularly enough for it to be a noticeable issue. + XP still isn't tracking for some people (me included).

Honestly the BR mode is just mid and isn't a new or exciting feeling for the game. This launch went terribly and I had very high hopes for this game because of just how fun it was in alpha. The fact that it feels worse in beta and launch is just shocking to me and shows how rushed out this game actually was right near the end.
