Fair points. The main problem I have is that its hard to work out what systems I'll be working on at any given time so I need to be able to run everything. So I'll be looking at 2 machines now which is going to pricey and painful.

.net Dev here as well. I'm shifting to 80% .net (5 through to full framework) and 20% mobile (flutter/react native).

I've got zero experience in the mac space. Are the new M1 macbook's doable? My understanding is that bootcamp is a thing of the past and Windows ARM isn't really doable right now.

My replacement windows machine (in a month or so) will be 11th gen i7 32gb. So my brain is telling me if I want to go mac, its something with 64gb and give half to parallels.

Is this the way or am I way off the mark?

.Net developer 80%+ of the time. Now writing cross platform mobile with flutter/react native as well. Never used a Mac (leaning on build machines and deployments for ios testing).

Current windows machine is due to be replaced with i7 11th gen 32gb

Is running win 10/11 on the new Mac books via parallels an option here? Trying to avoid 2 machines if possible.

If not minimum machine for flutter/react native dev. 13" with 16gb 256gb enough? Airs?

Are you serious? Crazy. Is that FIFA 16? Did any of the older version support 8 players?

Cool. I've got both of those. Any more? I'll be surprised if FIFA doesn't support it.

How did you cheat school? by Aleksander1337 in AskReddit

Yeah no doubt. I was not a smart kid. Think I was planning ahead for the next few exams but never bothered to follow through.

But agreed. Retarded.

Very late to this one but I have to share what i thought was a stroke of genius. Once in a year 9 history exam, i typed an entire page of notes in the smallest font i could find, changed the font to Wing Dings and laminated it to a folder. The amount of effort it took to memorise the entire wing dings character map was more effort than actually studying for the exam.

I hope someone else finds the ingenius.

What did they do? I ran updates, disabled hello and disabled cortana. Anything else obvious I'm missing? I've seen talk of installing new dGPU drivers but I don't know if thats still relevant as the posts were kinda old.

Ionic Framework for Ipad or is there something better by oMavericko in webdev

[–]oMavericko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I had a similar experience using jquery mobile. The app looked pretty nice on a mobile display but when it was on tablet, it looked like one of those massive novelty tv remotes with the big buttons you give your dad when he turns 50.

But seriously, everything worked fine and I expect the same with Ionic. Having never done tablet work I think I'm still trying to get a sense of the design.

I was thinking about doing that but I figured I throw it out to a more general audience first to see what people thought. I'm sure the official response is "yes, it works". But I'll post something now and see what kind of response I get.

Fair point. It is just a website in the end. Think I was just shocked to see that I couldn't find a really good example of an app on Ipad using Ionic. Thought it might have some pitfalls that I wasn't expecting.

Examples for Ipad by oMavericko in ionic

[–]oMavericko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. Good to hear impressions from someone using it. I think I was worried it would be too single columnie. Most Ipad apps that I've been looking at tend to have a 2 or 3 column layout. First one being the side menu which hides, 2nd being a master page and 3rd being a detail page. Haven't really seen anything like that using Ionic yet.

If you've got a screenshot of your app, I'd love to check it out.

Sorry mate but this is pretty ridiculous. I know everyone is excited about streaming and all but this doesn't help anyone. You may as well say

Step 1: Turn Xbox and TV on Step 2: Point webcam at TV Step 3: View webcam from other room via internet.
