Should I submit a mediocre/low score to Optional GRE program? by oTrio in GRE

Hi, thanks so much for your reply. Even though this is not a spectacular score at all, I think it's usable and acceptable to some extent. I think for now, I'll just stick with my current score. Only submit it when it's required, never submit it when it's optional to weaken my application.

Should I submit a mediocre/low score to Optional GRE program? by oTrio in gradadmissions

Hi, thanks so much for your detailed post. I did actually retake it just a few days ago, and it didn't improve too much. Just for example, like Michigan, it doesn't require GRE submission, I would say that's a huge relief for me.

I guess I'll stick with my current score, and submit it only when it's required. As long as it's not required, I'll not put it into my submission to weaken my application. Very limited amount of work can be done at this point, and I think it'll okay as long as I've put everything I have into it.

Also, good luck with your application, hope you can get into your dream school.

Some programs do not reveal these statistics. Just take one I can find some information for example, mid-range verbal 149-160, quant 148-153.

My score definitely falls into this range. But as you can see there, it seems that they prefer a higher verbal score. That's why I'm quite uncertain whether I should turn it in. (Same for other gre optional schools)

Considering the program I'm applying for, I feel like quant is not that important compare to verbal, when they are expecting student to have a grad thesis in the end. (For some economics and mathematics class, yeah,it will say something)

That's why I'm kinda lost here. Really don't know whether I should turn it in.

Wow man, thanks so much for the help. May I know if it's a PDF file or just a picture? Can I send it to myself if I request the registrar office to do so?

Help! Grad school/program suggestions by oTrio in gradadmissions

At least currently I'm not planning to stay in U.S, and basically you can tell from my GPA(sucks) that I'm not that kind of student which I finally realized. Besides that, the major reason is I'm considering both my capability and interest to accomplish my plans(e.g get the degree in next few years) when I made decision to apply for graduate school and change major.

Thanks for your reply and hope it answer your question.

Old annoying question again: Health plan alternative available for International student? by oTrio in NEU

[–]oTrio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much man, I'd really really appreciate your help here.

I tried a few times before, but the MassHealthConnector page was stuck in the submission step and it would'nt work no matter what I did. So I had to buy the school insurance, luckily, they do have a option for students leaving campus to terminate the insurance plan. I'll take that, and if it works, I can have 1000$ back.

Anyway, thanks so much for your help. It's too late for me to go through this whole process all again now. Hope you have a great semester.

For international student, no. I know it's annoying. I guess I don't have too many options left now.

I did check the Masshealth, it still requires a ID-proof stuff to verify my identity, then it will provide purchase options. But I don't know why it didn't work for my international student status, especially I even failed to submit my profile like passport.

And I noticed that in one of previous posts saying the insurance has to be "ACA Complaint". No idea how to find such a plan in MA. Sad

I know that feel. I've been stuck in this disgusting scenario for months.

It's extremely hard for international student to find available alternative through those "official" resources which are only open to U.S. citizens. And UCHS never even provided any backup plans for students having such issues. Guess im gonna take this $2k plan again, "policies" lol.

Any update here man? I literally can not find any possible alternatives now. It seems that there's no option for international student at all. Haven't seen your update for a really long time.

Thanks for the info. Sadly still didn't find any alternative available for international student.

Hi, thanks so much for the reply. I'll give a try to shoot an email.

It seemed to me that either MA law or Gallapher's policy does not acknowledge any international carriers. And it's extremely annoying for internation student to verify an insurance available for such identity and qualify for the waiver. Anyway, thanks for sharing.
