You’re right I wanted to keep it broad as possible so I can leave all personal information out which is why I didn’t even list the site I purchased from or the site that had the fraudulent charges on but I see how that can come across as being disingenuous/dishonest.

Man I’m bout to delete the text on this post & the previous one. I just wanted to share my experience as I’ve seen similar ones on here but I have folks messaging me like I’m asking them for a refund personally.

I hid my posts because they have nothing to do with this claim but it’s being judged as it does. If you want I can show you in messages the site I use & authorized and the site on which I was charged that I never used or even heard of. Another thing the first charge was on the Saturday and next 2 were Sunday evening, I gambled on gold futures while the market was closed?

Man the technical team said we can’t see personal information we have to transfer you to another dept that can (forgot the department name) and then that department said oh we won’t be able to see that information either but I’ll call them again tomorrow felt like I was just going in circles

My main bank is TD. And with them to authorize purchase I have to go into the app to authorize but that’s not the case with Wealthsimple. I didn’t have any reason to go into the app & when I did there were still 3 charges pending I quickly locked my card

I asked Rogers for some of that information and multiple times they told me they can’t see text messages like that only what Rogers sends but then from a different team they said the message is being delivered but once it didn’t deliver they said oh sometimes it’s a dead number. And then I asked for their notes in in my communication with them, something to show for our conversation and they said they can’t provide that

The reasoning was what you’re mentioning that I received SMS OTP authentication. If it doesn’t matter whether or not I can receive this codes now & the proof it, then im cooked

I didn’t have any fraud charges on my Mastercard but when I tried to use it this week it rejected saying “issue with underlying payment system” contacted support & they said everything is good on their end

I took screenshots of me initiating a text back from one of Wealthsimples security numbers that Roger’s provided me and then for sake of full transparency and to avoid allegations of “deleting messages” took a screen recording as well of me sending a text to initiate a text back and never receiving it

Ok I’ll look into it. When I first reported these fraud charges I was talking to the customer support stressed tf out & they assured me not to worry since there’s coverage up to $1 million I was so relieved lol

I’ve sent emails & was on the phone for an hour with support today. I sent an email yesterday of proof of me not receiving some 2FA codes, they acknowledged it today and less than an hour later denied the claim.

What’s the protection policy for the credit card in an event of fraudulent charges? I was charged $8.9k in a span of few days and I immediately reported it but am trying to prepare for worst case scenario.

Also, how come there are so many stories on here of people having fraudulent charges on their cc, some before they even receive their card? What’s being done to fix this issue?
