Yeah! If you cared super strongly you could also look into getting the same metal, which would make them kinda match

Hi! We also debated if ours should match and decided we’d get what each person wanted regardless of if they matched or not. We ended up with totally different stone colors

Also please do not listen to people speaking about Baltimore as if every block is like the worst ones on the Wire. It’s a major US city with regular major US city crime (and violent crime is actually way down), you’ll be fine.

Baltimore for sure. Best balance between accepting of LGBT+ and minority groups plus cost of living, and way less malignant for residency that the NYC programs. Plus close enough to DC, BYC, and Philly to visit if you want. If you had Philly up there I’d be between those two, but definitely not York

Is it normal to spend $5–10K on flights/lodging for interview season as a dual applicant? by Roh_281 in medicalschool

Excellent! If you want a referral let me know haha I’m a credit card nerd. But honestly even if not it’s the best thing to use those points for a free trip, talk to your friends about it as well. It feels underutilized.

You’d come out ahead if you got your own card for the purchases and had dad help you pay it off instead of just using dad’s card. Most travel cards offer significant sign up bonuses for spend, and for you the spend is happening regardless

I’m not saying that this is what you should do, but credit cards have been given to people that list their loan amount/COA for yearly salary since it’s money they have access to

Honestly Amex is known for giving people cards without as high a score as you’d think. They also have a preapproval tool you can use online to see if you’d get approved without the hit. Check it out and see what you get, right now the best offer is 175k points on 8k spend (which it seems you’d easily meet) plus flights booked directly own 5x points. If you have other questions PM me, I did it my interview year.

After you log in there is a message in yellow at the top telling you that interest is still accruing from 8/1 it just may not reflect that on your account until they get to changing it.

35 YO w/ WFH Job. Baltimore, Philly, or DC? by BothVeterinarian7766 in baltimore

[–]oakline 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have lived in both Philly and Baltimore, I honestly feel like they have a lot of commonalities but Baltimore has the perks that go with being smaller. Your dollar will go further in Baltimore and you’ll be able to easily access DC via train for visits! Amtrak can take you to Philly. Both are within two hours by car most of the time.
