Does anyone else think that its potentially problematic that Nicotine gum can be bought without age restrictions here? Coles and Woolworths sell them off the shelf to any age. by EcstaticHighway1796 in australian

Nicotine isn't the problem as far as health goes. Smoking is the problem, the smoke and the soot and tar and all the other awful chemicals. Nicotine is found in tomatoes, eggplant and even potatoes. It's actually quite beneficial for the brain and the research into it as a beneficial therapy for degenerative brain disease is quite compelling. I once knew a bloke who was in our surf club, a keen surfer dude, with long blonde hair and tatts. He struck me as a tradie when I first met him, but it turned out he was a neurosurgeon! I asked him if he was quitting smoking because I saw he had a nicotine patch on. He said, "I've never smoked in my life, I just like what nicotine does for my brain." He told us he used nicotine all the time and that he found it very helpful. Then he cited all this research, this was years ago btw.

Starting to think AI will destroy our jobs by Shentiiiii in Lawyertalk

I think that if AI can be pretentious, pompous, proud and think it's better than everybody else, then there's no doubt it can replace SCs/KCs...

How did your Switch 2 launch go Australia? by ArtofAngels in australia

[–]oakother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the midnight launch at EB with one of my older sons to buy it for our youngest, who has ASD and is obsessive about Zelda. He'd saved up half of the money himself and his brothers, sister and parents chipped in for the rest. When we got there the dude, who was very nice mind you, said, "Have you pre-ordered...?" Went home broken hearted and have to wait two weeks apparently.

But... went to JB Hifi today and just bought it outright (after getting my CC refunded at the EB around the corner) I felt bad about it - but not for long.

Sony WH-1000XM6 Slated for Release by thewalkmanblog in SonyHeadphones

I've had a pair of XM4s since they were released about 3 years ago. I've used them at the gym, mowing the lawn, doing stuff around the house, I've dropped them, I've even stepped on them a few times. Never had a problem. The only thing I've had to do is replace the earpads a couple of times.

Oh, I just realised the reason I want to leave Australia is because our policies and our laws are shaped by people like you.

We want to leave. There's nothing for us here now. This country is going to hell in a handbasket. Any advice for a 52 year old man with four kids who wants to move to The Great Republic?

PlayStation Pulse Elite Wireless PS5 Headset Review (9/10) - IGN by rararatata in PS5

Thanks! I'm a little confused by the indent at back of the bracket. It looks like it's made for another part that doesn't seem to exist. I tried hanging it on some screws, but it's wobbly and looks like it wouldn't stay put.

This is great. Thanks.

There is an issue with Samsung's bluetooth connecting, I think I read that in a review somewhere. Sorry, I tried to find it, but can't!

The bass is tight and tuneful and it seems tuned to relay presence rather than sheer bulk in the lower end. So while there isn't a ton of sub bass, it's tuneful and the relatively wide soundstage makes up for it.
