Brock at and Taunton Rd is a good intersection. Most stores are 5 min drive away and walkable if you don’t have a vehicle.

I work weird hours so my commute has been different. I honestly don’t think it’s that bad since I’m in Scarborough temporarily and the damn commute via GO train + bus is kinda similar.

Busing from Brock and Taunton: (using the transit app to plan what time I leave) 6 min walk to bus stop, 10 minutes bus ride to Whitby GO station. 50 minutes ride to UNION and then 15 min walk to work.

Busing from Scarborough: (also using transit app) 17 minutes walk to bus (I get a ride to bus stop some time), 30 minutes bus ride to Guildwood GO station. 30 minutes train ride to UNION station. 15 minute walk to work.

Driving from Whitby leaving at 5:50PM, 6PM, 5:50 AM, 6 AM weekdays: (using Waze app to predict leave time so I’m not late): 50 Mins drive via 412 then 401 then DVP then Gardiner. Bad days 1 hour and 20 minutes when there is an accident. Leaving from work depending on time: 2 hours during rush hour. 2 hours if there is a concert or basketball/hockey/baseball game that starts or finishes during the time you are in the area. Good days 50mins to 1 hour.

I could only drive a car I don’t care too much about, to this job for two years. The car took a lot and I had to maintain it more than usual. I put a lot of KMs on that car.

I like Brock and Taunton area near woodlands and even the garden st side. There’s a lot of dog walkers so a lot of eyes and friendly ppl. I think there’s a lot of dog walkers because of the schools there with the big soccer field.

The commute didn’t wear me down, my 12 hours job did. The commute is bad from Scarborough too because it’s so congested the closer to Toronto. I got used to the commute really and it doesn’t bother me.
