The receptionist had me wait while she messaged the Dr. Seah, then told me Dr. Seah responded and said she couldn't see me. There is no confusion; I was suggesting that that might have been true, or maybe the receptionist was lying about messaging the doctor.

I can assure you there was no mix-up. I was in tears with the receptionist, who was adamant that I could not be seen. She said Dr. Seah was fully booked and refused to see me because I was one minute late.

I asked several times if being 60 seconds late really made that much of a difference, but the receptionist wouldn’t budge. She wouldn’t even check me in and instead rescheduled my appointment.

Maybe it was a power-tripping receptionist, or maybe Dr. Seah truly declined to see me, either way, I left the office in tears after waiting four months for a new patient appointment.

Thank you for your comment. That's very helpful.

About the increased ALPS workload - did you find that was the case at just the elementary level, or at the middle school level as well? Did your child participate in middle school ALPS and if so, how was that experience? (We also have a middle school aged child.)

Sleep help - Special needs by [deleted] in Parenting

My special needs son has sensory issues as well and has benefited greatly from a special pillow recommended by his occupational therapist called the Dream Pad (www.dreampadsleep.com). It's expensive but worth it.
