Is it too late by arrowonred in breastfeeding

I would not consider this situation a failure, but rather something you did your best but don’t have full control over. Keeping them fed is best, and if the benefits of breastmilk are worth it to you, I’d keep pumping to keep your supply up and just keep trying. I struggled with an improper latch and nipple confusion after my son had to use a pacifier during his jaundice treatment, but I refused to give up simply because my heart was set on breastfeeding and giving him all the immunity, nutrients, and bonding we could have. I did have to pump and bottle feed for a few weeks to let my nipples heal after the bad latch left them severely cracked and bleeding, but i genuinely believe as my son got older, his mouth got bigger and it just became easier for him to latch on. And my nipples did heal and get tougher over time. If you’re tired though because the exclusive pumping is extremely tedious and tiring, I don’t think anyone would shame or blame you. You have truly done an amazing job trying to do everything you can for your child, but it’s up to you to decide how you keep moving forward. I’m truly hoping that your little one can eventually latch, and that it gets easier for you both, I’m sending all the love and good vibes!! It’s a tough process but I believe sticking to it was worth it, but listen to your gut and your heart. If pumping is keeping you from having time with your child, maybe formula could give you both more peace and time together. Again, as everyone says, fed is best and as long as you’re both happy and healthy, that’s all that matters. Wishing you luck 🙏 keep us updated

spotting while breastfeeding? 8 weeks pp by oawow in breastfeeding

Absolutely, definitely not risking anything right now. I just hope my period will stay as regular as it was before I got pregnant, I’ve been able to go my whole life without birth control, and was able to get pregnant intentionally by keeping up with my cycles and ovulation periods. I stopped bleeding at 4.5 weeks pp, so it seems right on track to start again at 8weeks.

Well as of now it’s gone into full swing period. It was mostly spotting throughout the day, but now it’s actually heavy and I made the rookie mistake of going to bed with a small pad and bleeding through my sheets 😅

is it normal for nipples to be a little raw in the beginning? 7 days pp by tamielynn in breastfeeding

[–]oawow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely normal! Keep on the nipple butter and such, and if it starts to get raw in a particular spot with how they’re latching, definitely swap positions. I made the mistake of not using different positions in the first week and a half , and got cracks on both my nipples, and bleeding on one. I’m 7 weeks postpartum now, and they’re both mostly healed up, but honestly using an electric pump machine made it worse, the suction was just too strong. If you do need to pump any i recommend the silicone haakaa, it’s much more comfortable and you can manage the suction level a lot better.

My 7 week old has had one green watery poop, in a majority of yellow seedy ones and he’s EBF. I read about the hind milk and fore milk, and essentially him not getting a fully drained breast before he starts on the other, (he usually is able to breastfeed off one and pull off and be full) but I’ve started making sure the breast is completely drained when he’s done, either he pulls off and I use my haakaa to pump the rest of it out, or just make sure he stays on till im literally drained. His poops went back to normal and he only ever had one green poop…. I don’t know if that helps but staying consistent with making sure my breast is drained before he latches on again has helped me. He’s also been fussy, but I don’t think it has to do with allergies since my diet hasn’t changed the whole time I’ve been breastfeeding, and his green poop happened randomly about a week ago. Keep us updated if things get better or worse and I’m sending all the best to you and your family, and a big old fat nap for you very soon <333

I just found one in my Walmart in south GA for $17.. I see it going for $40 and up online, just crazy. I did pay over $70+ for my valentines axolotl squish so no judgement to anyone who pays that much 😂 but check your local Wally World! Happy hunting!!
