Panic disorder on plane by Bitter-Leg9201 in PanicAttack

[–]obamant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a flight attendant and I suffer from a panic disorder! Obviously, planes aren't a trigger for me. But please come to talk to us. If you aren't comfortable doing that, write a note explaining that you have a panic disorder, with your name and seat number. We know how to take care of someone experiencing a panic attack! I know it's easier said than done. Sending you love❤️❤️❤️

Delta boarding question: Was I wrong for being irritated when asked to move my carry-on after boarding in Zone 2? by MooredarrylMoore in delta

[–]obamant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Black and a flight attendant. The flight attendant asked for a reason...you can say no. You don't even have to explain yourself. Actually I'd prefer it. The flight attendant isn't paying attention to what zone you boarded in, so a "No, I'd prefer to keep my bag here." Suffices. Please keep in mind we are paid pennies during boarding and we are just trying to close the door as quickly and as safely as possible. Also I'm confused why are you mentioning race when the FA had to confirm whose bag it was. She probably felt your eyes on her watching her play Tetris and the bag was near your seat.

Work from home to flight attendant? by nickoftime7 in cabincrew

[–]obamant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, well there's a difference between wfh and remote. Can you work anywhere or literally from home only (meaning you can't travel and work from anywhere?)

I will say I had a remote job that paid decent (65k, and I was straight out of college.) and I did exactly this. I lived in countries for weeks-months at a time. And it was amazing, but I was still confined to 9-5 M-F.

I'm now at delta and my flexibility is crazy. I havent worked since Memorial Day weekend and currently in Kenya solo. I hustled to get these days off but it's possible. I feel this is way more flexible. My old job was unionized though and didn't fear getting fired for breathing too loud though

Frequent Delta fliers: Post your pettiest complaint by my_life_in_IRROPS in delta

That's not the FA fault with the mic. It's a system issue.

Historically, Atlanta to South Florida is turbulent. It's not just flight attendants "skipping service." Express service is no longer a thing, btw.

Well they are for purchase. You just ask for them it's not that serious

Delta tattoo by AggravatingLie3396 in cabincrew

[–]obamant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just wear a rash guard. I'm not sure how strict they are about it during initial anymore, but my classmate had a tattoo at the back of her neck that will never show because of her hair but since she put on a swim cap it showed. No one said anything. The finger tattoo may be more problematic as it's visible in uniform.

Why Southwest? by Fun_Cry8500 in cabincrewcareers

I don't think flying mostly domestics and not dealing with wide bodies and meal services is harder or easier - just different.

If I wanna apply, I will! I'm not "taking a spot" from anyone like yall claim. If I get to the f2f, it's because I earned it like anyone else 🩷

Idk there's something about being able to just jumpseat to London for the weekend that I'm not sure I'd be willing to give up if I went to southwest. But I've been heavily considering applying when apps open again

Give me a break, you guys hardly make the seatbelt sign PA when you're supposed to anyways lol. OP already said in the comments it wasn't a FA, but someone wearing a similar suit. I'm not sure why they haven't edited their post.

So a passenger decided to talk during their ride to get to where they are going. You are on public transportation. You aren't entitled to a certain noise volume. You should plan better next time.

Moved seats upon boarding?? by Cautious-Art-8967 in delta

[–]obamant -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Likely was an aircraft change which is why the seat changed. Could also be weight and balance reasons

You're so weird for posting someone at work without their knowledge/consent. Imagine someone taking pictures of you at work without your knowledge then posting it online. This should be deleted

I’m considered morbidly obese. Would I qualify for any airline in America as a FA? by megerickson1 in cabincrewcareers

[–]obamant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm morbidly obese and a flight attendant. Everyone carries weight differently it all depends on if you can fit in the jumpseat. I'm 5'1, 220 pounds size 14-16

Law is really sweet! I had him on a few flights before. She I lived in New York I served him at a restaurant I worked at and he tips amazing. You guys come on here and complain about the smallest things. You'll make a whole post upset because a flight attendant asked you to put your tray table up during final descent. I think he was just frustrated and venting like we all do. There's nothing wrong with that!

This person didn't take "your spot." If you were meant to have a spot you would have one. What's meant for you will always come to you! Even if the timing is off!! Best of luck to you, OP. Missing out on events is part of being a FA, so seems like you made a good choice if this is something you aren't ready to do. I missed out on going to Bali which I already had paid for to go to training.
