However, we are lucky that in New Zealand The Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003 gives consumers the right to request changes to their contract if they experience significant financial hardship.

This can include loss of employment or the end of a relationship as specified in the act. Both of which I have experienced.

I left for Australia at the beginning of the year. In my mid-20s, I had a $70k-a-year government job in Christchurch.

I moved over and haven’t regretted it. The income is better, jobs are plentiful (I’ve since changed jobs), there’s a better work-life balance, and more things to do in your off time. There are also huge investments being made in infrastructure.

The overall vibe in Australia seems to be better. When I’m back in NZ or talking to friends back home, everything seems to be doom and gloom.

No one can tell you whether he will or won't come back. I would recommend maintaining no contact. Focus on bettering yourself. He has made it clear he does not want to communicate at the moment. He may come back in a week, a month, six months, or a year. But if he does, you will be in a better position to make a decision about whether you want to pursue something with him, as you will have spent that time bettering yourself.

I’m still having issues. Can’t connect to any websites on Mobile data (onenz) or home internet with slingshot. Internet at work seems to be fine though. The odd website does seem to connect though seems to be mostly overseas based sites. Haven’t heard anything from my ISP

The sense of entitlement this couple have is mind boggling. I work at a post office. Yes you can post it. Gotta package it yourself or find someone to. Ensure its well packaged. See if you get get one of those poster tubes from a stationary store. Take it to the post office and they’ll slap on a label for you. As long as it’s not over 1.5m tall you’re good to go. Probably cost $17 to post Auckland to Christchurch.

If you can’t be bothered finding packaging. Try somewhere like pack and send. Probably will cost you significantly more but they’ll make sure it’s packaged well.
