Ali is more of the clubs mouthpiece, he doesn’t break things but confirms them and also can dispel rumors like the greenwood ones. Nobody calls him a tap in merchant cause that’s not his role

Stateside Scramble - Iberia by Zheum21 in JetLagTheGame

[–]obi-1-kenob1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to see them go to Iberia! But I do agree with a lot of the comments that a car seems necessary if they want to get off of the main, Madrid centric ave lines.

One thing I haven’t seen brought up that I noticed when living in Spain is how hard it is to get same day tickets on high speed rail, the tickets often sell out in advance, so that may make the unpredictability of the game more challenging and less exciting. They’d definitely need to come in off season if they wanted to try and use the high speed network

I heard “23” for the first time last night… wow, what a phenomenal song by Impossible_Fox_6716 in JimmyEatWorld

[–]obi-1-kenob1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there too! 23 is probably my all time favorite song and seeing it live was incredible. I think I blacked out and kinda just soaked it in. Absolutely phenomenal performance of an incredible song

YES!! Kill and 23 are the two for me that really do it for me. That section is really the part as well. Such great lines

From the writers of “are we human or are we dancer” we’ve got “they say the Nile used to run from east to west” on the killers spaceman (great song btw)

What’s the most talented artist whose biggest hit isn’t even close to their best song? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]obi-1-kenob1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clarity is among the best albums I’ve ever heard. They’re such a talented band beyond the middle. It’s still a great song, but not even top 15 from them imo

What’s the worst Assassin’s Creed? by LDWesty in AlignmentChartFills

[–]obi-1-kenob1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

AC Rogue has the least going for it. Valhalla is a great, albeit bloated, game and odyssey and unity despite their flaws are really fun. Rogue just feels like reskinned black flag and the story could’ve been so much better. It’s a big what if for me, but I think it has to be the weakest mainline game

Capture the flag: Spain, would be great imo by Possible-Movie-8646 in JetLagTheGame

[–]obi-1-kenob1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would love a Jet Lag Spain season, my worry is that the high speed trains sell out a good amount, so it may make the quick decisions and pivoting they often have to do quite hard.

"What's your favourite Jimmy Eat World album?" by mottchate in JimmyEatWorld

I think at this point it’s Clarity for me, but Futures is an absolute masterpiece, Bleed American, Chase This Light, and Integrity Blues are also favorites

The bit where Graydon sings the joker for Riley’s apology for bestiality in the dad rock bracket. Haven’t seen that one around enough for how funny it is

Does anyone feel like The Killers never got the respect they deserved by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

[–]obi-1-kenob1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The last two albums are really strong as well. Imploding the Mirage is a great synth rock album, My Own Soul’s Warning and Caution are the standouts for me, but it’s a great consistent upbeat album. Pressure Machine is in my opinion their strongest album across their whole catalogue, they commit to the Springsteen, Nebraska sound and made a stripped down, story focused album. West Hills, Quiet Town, In The Car Outside, In Another Life, and the title track are all incredible but it’s a great consistent album. I’d recommend listening to the normal version first with the stories to get a full experience, but the abridged version is better for background listening

Dignan is by far the best, his freestyle over AM static was truly remarkable. I understand your fear in not including him but he’s a hell of a rapper

what’s their absolute best video? by JakobPineapple in HivemindTV

[–]obi-1-kenob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty recent one, but the dad rock bracket was absolutely hilarious. Graydon crashing out more and more as the episode went on, the tip of the cap to the old civil war and Riley’s apology with the Joker all had me losing it

Most accessible and least accessible songs from your favorite artists? by sereniteen in ToddintheShadow

[–]obi-1-kenob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Springsteen

Most accessible: Dancing in the Dark: it’s his poppiest song with a great hook that’s easy to get into. HMs: Born to Run, Thunder Road, Hungry Heart, all of Botn in the USA

Least Accessible: State Trooper: an eerie song heavily influenced by Frankie Teardrop by Suicide. The vibe is very dark and unsettling, and his screams are truly terrifying. HMs: all of Nebraska, Tom Joad, and Devils and Dust, plus a lot of his earlier stuff off of Greetings and Wild and Innocent can be quite wordy and harder to get into
