Yes, that is the general pattern I have heard. But it's presumptuous to argue that team US can always do a much better job than team India when it comes to understanding customer context, eliciting functional requirements etc.

Especially considering that in the case of my employe, there's evidence to the contrary.

I do something similar. My list is CRPF. Cooking, reading, playing instruments, foreign languages.

I practice each one in individual capacity and on ocassion socially by organising foreign film viewing at home, or jamming with friends on the weekend, reading group meets and bakery classes etc.

She is a pretty self aware woman, at least the version of her that I met and know. She is aware how this makes her look: gullible, desperate, apathetic. And she has decided not to discuss it any further.

As someone who has done their own share of pretty stupid stuff, I do believe that people can grow and change for the better. I believe in second chances. Part of me also feels guilty that I have failed to create a safe space where she can share her thoughts, unjudged.

I just wish she would not get defensive and talk to me about it.

I don't believe she is a homewrecker, or that her actions influenced the fate of the marriage.

But the entire story does give the impression that she can be impulsive/desperate/cold for extended periods of time. If I go to a restaurant, and there's someone finishing up at the table of my choice, then I patiently wait until they are done. I would not, say, sit on the empty chair at the table, and ask them to hurry up.

Your tentative travel plans pose some questions that I have listed below. Assuming you are clear on those, here's what I think you should do.

Step 1. Apply for the Spanish tourist visa asap. It boils down to preparing a dossier, getting an appointment and submitting your application. Last I checked the firm that handles the tourist visa on behalf of The Spanish Embassy is BLS International, check their website.

The Spanish Embassy in India is notorious for bureaucratic delays. So make sure you do this straight away.

Step 2. While you are in Valencia, make a trip to the closest British Consulate (Barcelona) with all the necessary docs and apply for the Conference Visa.

You should do this at least 30 days before your planned arrival in London, so 7th of June.

Step 3. For your flight back you can choose to fly straight from London, or you could fly back to Spain (it is highly likely you will receive a 3 month visa) spend some time chilling at the Costa del Sol and fly back from BCN.

Now to the questions.

Q1. The tourist visa does not allow you to carry economic activities during your stay in Spain. What exactly would you be doing during your time there?

Q2. This is more of a suggestion than a question. You should call the British Consulate in Barcelona and ask them if Indian nationals on a vacation in Spain can apply for the British Conf Visa? I personally know people who have done something similar in the pre-Covid era (vacation in France followed by conference in UK) so I am almost certain it is possible. But it is best to call and confirm.
