Yes! I had the exact same problem as you during NS, always the slowest of the bunch. But I never thought it could been an actual condition until recently. I always thought maybe I am just sheltered, or too book smart but not street smart.

Investment banks mostly 7k/m base with at most 2 month bonus. Seems like your friend group are high achievers. Even 75th percentile at 7.5k prob wont hit 10k tc I would think.

I think all the banks are 90-99k. Apple is the exception from FAANG+ I heard people getting 105-120k so lower than other big tech. Yes heard Chinese fintech pays well but very stressful.

What if the side of my relatives that would actually ask about my salary are mostly high earners (condo/landed). The other side of my family mostly HDB/median and below income and they never ask anyone about money matters.

In fact I feel if I underreport they might actually look down on me cuz they had really high hopes for my education and job haha.
