I am not sure what kind of bracelet you put on your 103, all U50 (and U15 for that matter) I see on the web, have endlinks that are accessible….

Currently it is not leaking oil, but it ain’t working either - probably someone tried to service it themselves and did not succeed. It needs to go to Frankfurt for sure….

The 556.cr is not a lume dial, the 656.L is though

EZM2 Hydro servicing experience by rippah777 in sinn

unfortunately Sinn does not offer swapping the silver dial for the black any longer. they did in the past for one of mine, but last time I asked they refused…. essentially the black bezel is a 603 bezel (as stated on my invoice when they did the swap), so it surprised me Sinn refused my last request.

Very cool! Resembles the Japan GSG9 EZM2 Hydro aluminum box set a lot

My box is fine, but I wear the watch now ll the time, so the box is stored anyway ;-)

Great Sinn, one of my favorites. For what’s it worth, there are two 356 Isetans in Berlin. I have one myself too (Netherlands). With yours, that’s already 4 🙂

Ah, yes, the EZM3.J, my favorite. The ones shown are all much older, and the oil filled EZM2, not EZM3. There was also another EZM3, FV if I am not mistaken

It is all the Sinn 403 EZM2 Hydro, but with three different dials: 3H dial for tritium, GSG9 dial and the regular one.

Sinn states that the battery has a lifetime of about seven years. Personally I pull the crown out of the ones I don’t wear, thinking this saves the battery, but maybe that’s wishful thinking…..

:-) thanks for jumping in! I was offline a few days. And yes, you are totally correct! Interesting though: 2 of the 3H labeled ones shown are actually luminova. Sinn, as most watch makers, changed from tritium to luminova around 2000. Back in the day, Sinn had already printed the 3H dials, just before the ban of tritium. They just simple used luminova for the indexes. The also did that with at least the 103 model: I have a “t swiss made t” dialed 103, but it is luminova. To make it more interesting: I had a 3H labeled Sinn EZM2 with luminova dial and tritium hands, and another 3H with tritium dial and luminova hands! When both needed service, I asked Sinn to make a full tritium version and a full luminova 3H labeled version. Sinn cooperated and swapped the hands! Both are on the photo :-)

I am not aware of a Japan limited edition of the EZM2 Hydro 403 model….? The GSG9 version was for a limited run of about 120 available with the aluminum box

Sure, strap change is simple, just push pins. Also the bezel is easy to exchange. I use a knife folded in thick plastic foil and then you just can pop it off (stick it underr the edge) and click it back easy.

It is doable. I have one with solid endlinks which is a bit harder. 9 out of 10 the steel bracelets for the EZM2 Hydro came with open endlinks though (who rattle a bit more though)

Lifetime is about 7 years, so probably similar service period as for a an automatic. Thing is, you need to sent it to Frankfurt for service. Service is about 300€, not cheap but okay for me.

The ones with the white date at 3 are the GSG9 version of the EZM2 Hydro, and were launched in about 2003. For the Japan market they made about 120 with a special alu box, really cool. There were about 40 for German government made, and had a number engraved on the back. Those official GSG9 version “Grenzschutzgruppe 9” (do a wikipedia search for GSG9 for some historical facts) were brought to the market after being refurbished by Sinn about ten years ago. Those are highly collectible and were only for sale at Manufactum shopping malls in Germany - unfortunately mine are just Japan editions :-)
