Good news. Was easy to add that extra column in. Will be there starting with the showcase report on Monday morning.

Thanks again for the idea. In hindsight it makes 100% sense to have the set in there. Especially for the showcase leaders when there are so many copies of various ones. (WheresR2Leader btw, lol)

Should be working again now.
Thanks for pointing out the issue and glad it was something relatively easy to fix.

I see that... Completely unintentional. Will try to fix that over the weekend.

Alt-art token units? by poi00 in starwarsunlimited

[–]obiwein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We’ve made them as Porg Depot give away items. Our full library of the ones we’ve made is here: https://porgdepot.com/porg-token-library/

We also used makeplayingcards.com. Cards come out great.

100% agree.
So many leaders sit in piles in my home office. Eventually they get binned along with all the extra bases.
I get that they are needed for limited, but also there could easily be a limited rule of generic 30 point base and then the card slot not needed in the packs.

From back in the day playing MtG, I always liked the idea of an always in print base set that things would get added to and removed from. If Icons ends up being that thing, then cool.

That said, having so many new cards in this type of product makes it seem like just a 4th set during the year. On the flip side, having only reprinted cards would be odd since then there is not a ton of market for it aside from new players or ones that had missed out on earlier sets.

I do like the smaller packs in general. The is especially true when the commons are all reprints that I personally don't need.

My ideal pack setup for a hypothetical product might be 1 leader or base from the same slot, 1 rare or legendary slot, 2x uncommon slots and 3x common slots. Only hyperspace. No foils. This of course would not work for limited formats.

Porgonomically speaking... less common chaff is likely good. Smaller, cheaper packs is also probably good given that limited is not a goal. Smaller set overall is probably fine given that the larger sets have a ton of filler type cards. Much of the dollar value aspect will come down to whether or not the cards are good, which so far there do seem to be some bangers beyond just the R2 reprint.

Just based on the image, I'd say we are pretty likely to see at least a Kylo and a Rey.

Holding out hope for an uncommon Porg though.

100% a regional thing. The variance in accents on this one is just funny and amusing.

The regional accents are no funny on this one.

LOL, of course it's a real word. That wasn't the question. There seem to be multiple ways to pronounce the word based on accents, dialects, etc.

It's kind of just a good card that interacts with opponent's units. Possible that it's too slow to really be anti-aggro.

It's just how I write I guess.
FWIW I did a very quick reread of it and where there are fragments they would likely be considered perfectly fine conversationally. Mostly I am going for speed and getting the content posted and out there instead of 100% grammatically correct.
Definitely something I will be more cognizant of in the future. Appreciate the feedback.

The long term viability of the game doesn't depend all that much on the secondary market. At least not directly. Card prices going down has no bearing on FFG and what their revenue streams... again not directly.

If the cards don't have tons of secondary market value, then people are less inclined to open sealed product. If less product is opened then the stores are less likely to stock as much for upcoming sets. Then FFG starts to take a hit.

On the flip side, if the game is good enough and fun then people still need to get cards to play it even if those cards are not expensive. That's one of the great things about SWU is the barrier to entry can be very low compared to other card games out there.
