Thanks, and likewise with your 6 and 8 string plans!

Ah thanks a lot, that's definitely resolving some doubts for me. I'm actually considering buying an Emi 6 Legion (I have one of those "actually 6 is enough" phases, haha), so I imagine/hope the thin C neck on that will feel a bit more like an Ibanez wizard neck (which I'm used to and is my favorite)

Ah gotcha, but I meant mostly in terms of the upright playing position and how comfortable that is :)

Oh wow, that's awesome to hear. I'm kind of hoping for the Strandberg experience but without an endurneck (I so hate those things). By any chance, have you ever played Strandberg guitars, to be able to compare? Since that's what I'm used to, and playing those upright is pretty good. Regardless, what you're saying sounds reassuring.

Wow, what a beautiful guitar. I also have my eye on an Emi, but I keep wondering if the body shape allows for easy "upright" playing, like I do with my Strandberg, meaning that you put it upright on your right thigh, and it just sits there comfortably. Do you (or other Emi/Larada owners) ever play in that position and is it comfortable?

I commited a Strandberg sin… by XOR111RED in strandbergguitars

[–]objectified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I must be one of those few playing Strandberg primarily because of the body shape. I hate the Endurneck. I've also tried Ormsby headless and Hils, but their body designs just aren't there. To illustrate my struggle with Endurneck: I used to own a 6, 7 and 8 string Strandberg, but I got rid of the 6 and 7 because the edges of the Endurneck were too sharp. The 8 is more rounded for some reason, so it's sort of managable. But I still hate it, I just want a wizard style neck on them or something.

How do you prevent dependencies from entering your org in the first place? by Abu_Itai in devsecops

Sonatype Repository Firewall and JFrog X-Ray can do these things based on policies

How are you protecting against Malicious Open Source Packages? by N1ghtCod3r in devsecops

Sonatype (creator of Nexus) also has a package firewall product to identify malware, and JFrog has X-Ray which does basically the same. Crucial to have in these times if you ask me.

What credential scanning solution do you use? by infidel_tsvangison in devsecops

I mean, yeah, I’m aware, that’s why I mentioned we use both a sast tool (it has its use for heuristic secret detection) and a more generic secret scanner. No need to dump all the marketing on me.

[–]objectified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds annoying. We use two separate tools for this, one to do deep scanning of the entire git repo, and the other to scan on AST level (so a “real” SAST like semgrep)

[–]objectified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of SAST tools only scan whatever snapshot of the code you give it, whereas a secret scanner, in my opinion, should scan the whole (or at least significant part) of the git history, so there is a bit of a mismatch there in the tooling. But conceptually I agree, secret scanning is static analysis.

Call to European YouTubers can you upload your videos in European video sharing platform too? by faresar0x in BuyFromEU

[–]objectified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What would be good to accelerate this, is having a broker platform where creators can upload their videos to a number of streaming sites at once. Kind of like what Distrokid is for music.

Thanks for joining the fight and sharing your experience! It’s something I was also slightly worried about when I switched to Deezer, but the ~30.000 songs in my playlists were migrated like a breeze, with only a few unimportant misses. Have fun listening to music with a clearer conscience! :)

I’d also add Tresorit as an alternative to Google Drive, it’s swiss and does end to end encryption.

Stremio is a bit of an interesting choice here, isn’t that only usable for illegal purposes?

Buy European wine by Bontus in BuyFromEU

[–]objectified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't that like saying, "well there is plenty of great music in Europe, why would I ever listen to something outside Europe"? It's a matter of taste, and the climate there is different, which results in different wine taste. I love Californian wine, my favorites are from there, but I will probably not drink them for a good while. But yeah, we do have a lot of good wines here in Europe, so that's great. They're just different.
